FFXIV Random Complaint Thread II: DPS can't count to potato

The problem is when they're alternating other shit their GCD lines up to reapply Storm's Eye at pretty much the very last second the old one is about to wear off. I trust the WAR in my static enough to reapply it (unless he's in the middle of a tank swap in which case I'll just throw a DE out to have it covered) but if I see Storm's Eye down to 1 second with a pug group I'll usually DE regardless. If someone specifically says they got it though I won't bother at all because that would just be kinda dumb, I'll get the first if they're opening with Butcher's Block and then leave it to them.

Second. Normally I can apply my first DE faster than the WAR can his Storm Eye. That or I don't think I ever see them use it.

Yeah there's that too. I can't remember what the bebuff icon looks like off the top of my head. And in 24 man content where there's a clusterfuck of debuffs, it's even a bigger headache to find it.

Also, does WAR have any abilities that can overwrite Storm's Eye? I could have sworn I saw a WAR in one group but a piercing debuff on an enemy. Think maybe that was overwriting my DE as well.

No, if you're talking about 24 man content then you can't rely on that status display at all (not even for your own debuffs), only half of the maximum number of status effects on the mob are ever visible.

I think certain debuffs always take priority and will "push" out other dots on the status display. Things like Silence, Stun, Dragon Kick, SE/DE, etc. will always show up in front of DoTs from everyone else but behind your own DoTs/Debuffs. Your own DoTs can get screwed though and there's the chance of never seeing them if you just happen to apply them in the 31-60 debuff slots.

I was after Caster Body or legs... tbh I just gave up and nabbed a Tank body when I saw it drop.

It was maddening.

This is one of the reasons why I haven't found the motivation to level up another character for alt raids. Seeing the Dreadwyrm Bow or Aiming legs drop on my alt would cause me to throw my keyboard out the window.

His alt has seen every FCoB drop minus the head. His main (also BRD) has less the half the gear.

If you focus target something, the resistance-down debuffs take priority for display since there's so little display room, so it's a lot easier to notice there.

i dont know why its so hard for them to code it after such a long time

it's because they built the system with the Choco as a party member (that doesn't have any duties unlocked). they would have to rebuild the whole thing to fix it. basically, there's no way they can let multiple people in a party to queue for different dungeons.

similar problem with retainers being Gladiators and not being able to use Paladin gear or them not having a Grand Company affiliation so they can't display grand company glamours.

I don't know why I am doing this to myself. I should just take the first good upgrade that comes along but I have it in my head that I really want the healing robe. I have seen the casting robe half a dozen times or so. I guess RNG works that way though. People say they are after something and you constantly see it, yet they never do and vice versa.

SE REALLY needs to get their heads out of their asses when it comes to these drops from both CT and Coil. They fucked up with WoD drops even more by adding a new set just for NIN, instead of consolidating them in with either BRD or MNK, which they actually did with previous content drops. I've been saying this for months, that they need to adopt a WoW-style loot drop system, where instead of having specific items drop directly from bosses, that they instead drop tokens that can be used to trade for a variety of different pieces. They did exactly this for the 2.4 dungeons, then completely dropped the ball for WoD.

With the vast amount of people you see bitching all the time that the one piece of gear they want hasn't dropped in X-number of runs, combined with the number of items that fall to the floor because of the weekly lockout, you'd think that at some point they'd smarten up and rethink the loot distribution a bit better, but it's only gotten worse.

Also, fuck this:

Got healer body but the only time Ive seen the skirt drop is... right before the body dropped and I lost. Got gloves this week because fuck you Cerb.

Token system can't come fast enough. Or just put another goddamn currency system in. I don't care. PVP has it going just fine in that regard; exchange points for loot. Christ.

Tired of seeing shit hit the floor. Nobody lots on belts, ever, because looks >> stats and belts aren't even fucking rendered.

I was irritated by this at first, but it switches back when you get off, so I'm not sure what the problem is?
