The fact that Tim Raines, Mike Piazza and Jeff Bagwell haven't made it yet either is a travesty, and don't get me started on the PED users. You can't have one group of cheaters in the hall but not another.
I can see a maybe, maybe, maybe argument for Delgado. Dude killed the ball, and when I was in HS/college I remember watching Baseball Tonight and it seemed like he hit a 500 ft shot every night. Highlight reels. The Vince Carter of MLB.

Actually I think an All-Masher ballot of Bonds, Bagwell, Sosa, McGwire, Piazza, Edgar Martinez, Delgado, Sheffield, and Larry Walker would be pretty entertaining.

2017 1st year: Vladimir Guerrero, Manny Ramirez, Ivan Rodriguez, Magglio Ordonez, Jorge Posada, Mike Cameron, J.D. Drew, Edgar Renteria, Tim Wakefield, Jason Varitek, Arthur Rhodes, Derek Lee, Mike Cameron, Orlando Cabrera, Pat Burrell

2018: Chipper Jones, Jim Thome, Bobby Abreu, Johnny Damon, Andruw Jones, Scott Rolen, Johan Santana, Omar Vizquel, Chris Carpenter, Rafael Furcal, Brad Lidge, Jamie Moyer, Kerry Wood, Carlos Zambrano, Hideki Matsui, Brian Fuentes, Livan Hernandez, Aubrey Huff, Jason Isringhausen, Carlos Lee, Kevin Millwood, Jamie Moyer

So next year, Griffy and Hoffman are the only two people on that list that should get in. 2017 Ivan Rodriguez should get in. Manny won't get any votes due to the PED use sadly. 2018 group Chipper should be in, as well as Matsui. Santana, Vizquel and Thome will probably get some votes, but probably won't make it in. 2019 will be Rivera, 2020 will be Jeter.

But I'm pretty positive he will make it before the ten year limit is up.

He doesn't even have 15 WAR in America. I don't see it.

Ichiro has 3 different 6-WAR seasons. Matsui has never even had a 3-WAR one.

How exactly does eligibility work? Johan Santana had a contract with the Orioles last season and was very close to making an appearance on the major league team before tearing his ACL. Does it only matter if you play in the majors, not anywhere?

Also grats ot the new HOFers. wish I understood why Mussina gets such little love. worth 30 more WAR over 4 less seasons than Glavine who is in...

5 years without playing a game for a major league roster. Bonds never officially retired iirc and is on the ballet.

Also Glavine had the benefit of being part of the 3 headed monster that was Maddux/Smoltz/Glavine that just destroyed batters until it was time for the playoffs/world series. I think if he was on a team that wasn't making the playoffs, he wouldn't have made it, but since he was part of the big 3, they were going to vote for him.

As for Matsui, I don't believe he's a slam dunk. I do think he will make it, skin of his teeth, but he will make it. There's been worse players enshrined. What will help him is if a large chunk of the slam dunks make it in over the next 3-4 years, thinning out the field I think he'll get in. If for some reason they decide to be retarded and have another year or two where only 0-1 people make it in, he's probably not going to make it.

2016: Griffey and Hoffman, almost sure Piazza and Bagwell.
2017: Vlad Guerrero and Ivan Rodriguez for sure.
2018: Chipper Jones sure and man i know Andruw wont get in but for me he is best outfielder in last 50 years.
2019: Mariano better get 100% votes.
2020: Jeter and Soriano for sure.

So happy for Pedro. Always was one of my favorite players as a kid. Rewatching his games after growing up gave me an even greater respect for how dominant that guy was. And, of course there's this:

Glavine was better than Smoltz. Any team factor the Braves had on Glavine is true for him too.

I give a slight edge to Smoltz, need to look at #'s, but when you ask who the best three are in order, it's almost always maddux, smoltz, glavine. Glavine just seems to be the guy everyone forgets about even though he could have had an equally great career in the NHL as he did in MLB.

Smoltz was younger and had that stint as a closer. If you think closing is a valuable thing then I guess you could say Smoltz is better, and you'd probably think Trevor Hoffman is 1st ballot material
