Stephen Colbert mocks the dissenters.
I've seen some posts floating around about how LGBTQIA people are uncomfortable with straight people changing their profile pic as a show of support, I guess because straight people can do it without fear of retribution and they maybe can't? I haven't experienced any of that personally because so many of my friends are out and comfortable with themselves but I kind of wondered what others' thoughts might be on this.
Personally I don't feel like changing my profile picture to the rainbow version of it is me trying to "take away" or diminish their struggle, but just a silent sign of support. But I guess there's always going to be people who see straight allies who think, "Oh, the straights are trying to take attention away from us, even though this is our fight."
Thoughts?
Many persecuted people who suddenly receive some relief feel like this. For some, its hard to know who to trust; who truly believes what they do and say vs. who is just riding the trend.
I haven't seen any hate like that on my FB feed. I have some gay people on my FList and all they're saying is how thankful they are for everyone's support.
Suppose I could understand some, "Where were you when I needed you?!" angst, but it's not like everywhere is San Francisco with big parades to overtly show support.
The whole thing is just gay.
This Bryan Fischer guys twitter is making my day. I can't even at how sensational this is.
There will always be a small vocal minority that is against something for reasons. I would take it with a grain of salt.
They can fuck off. I have plenty of lbgt friends who are happy to have my support.

Something is fucked when Lindsey Graham is the voice of reason in a political party.
Worried about the position his political party would be in versus the citizens affected by the constitutional amendment doesn't sound like the voice of reason to me. But it's close.
Well fuck the community in this case. If I want to support my friends who are LGBTQIA and THEY'RE okay with it, then I'm going to. If anyone else in the community is upset about that? Sounds like a personal problem to me. If my friends are okay with me supporting them, however, then that's what I'm going to do.
Oh it wasn't my friends that were the problem, but I saw people on another site that were complaining about that. So I figured I'd run to BG and get a second opinion.
That's what I meant. If my friends are cool with it, then I am. If it's random people from some other site, fuck them.
IM SICK OF SKITTLES
