I do dynamis on drk/dnc, and going from just Chaac belt to Chaac belt + Gorney ring increases my currency in a run by about 50%. Until I no longer need gil anymore, I won't ever feel the need to change, I think.

Why not go DNC/X with the same setup?
Yes but I'm not claiming anything, it was from an official SE dev post. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who actually pays attention to those. I have no idea where to even start digging for it because there's so many and it's a clusterfuck, so feel free to not believe me. Wearing treasure hunter gear past 8 increases the chance for treasure hunter to level up according to them (So you'll get to TH12/13 faster with belt, ring, 2 TH knives, hands, feet)
Se has said what byrth did about rate varying with th on mob vs what you have and about caps. They never said but there is still a point to going past 8. I checked the th dev posts myself and it's not there. It's really easy to check just do a search of dev posts containing treasure hunter. It also makes no sense for them to say that considering their entire reasoning for the caps was to not make player s feel they should wear all the th
This has never been proven. The only thing SE said is that if your TH is closer to the mobs TH level, the better your upgrade chance will be (which is something I had proven before SE even said it). However, they have never ever said that TH Proc rate will circumvent the cap of 8.
This is the dev post was posted Nov 10 2012
The TH cap was implemented on March 18 2014.To shed some light of the background before I drop some knowledge bombs, there was a test performed by your fellow adventurers in Japan, and they noticed that after initially hitting the monster with maximum TH+ gear equipped and then switching to non-TH gear, the rate in which the TH value increased was reduced.
Now that you have the background…
Adding Treasure Hunter+ via equipment, or other means, will not increase the rate at which the Treasure Hunter value grows, as this is a set rate. However, when the value of Treasure Hunter placed on a monster and the value of the Treasure Hunter on your character are different, this will cause the growth rate to vary. With that said, if you want to increase the Treasure Hunter value, it is best to utilize equipment that has the Treasure Hunter+ effect. By unequipping Treasure Hunter+ gear, you are essentially creating a gap between the value placed on the monster and your character, which results in an inefficient means for increasing the TH value.
There have been requests to make it so that it's possible to switch out TH+ gear after the TH effect is placed on a monster, but as there is a concern that this would reduce the value of equipment with Treasure Hunter+ and also takes away all the hard work some players have put into maximize their Treasure Hunter, we would like to keep it as it is currently.
You will need to run two 7+ hour fight logs consisting of TH8 in gear and TH11 in gear (Base +3, Relic 119 hn +3, Emp 119 ft +3, Sandung +1, Chaac +1) showing that the increase past 8 is faster with TH11.

Does weatherspoon's ring help light skillchain dmg by 10% if worn on closing weaponskill?
If the skillchain actually deals light damage, then it should. But a light SC can deal Fire, Wind, Thunder, or Light dmg. So unless the mob is weakest to light you're gonna end up dealing a different element and the ring won't do anything.
