It can. I had a match earlier on Numbani where we owned the other team on getting the first point so one left and it cancelled. I was pissed because I had just come off a loss. Ended up winning the next game though. Currently at 2300 and clawing my way to Platinum lol
What a cool guy (was trolling {admitted it} as Widowmaker the round before) during placements and calls me bad

The answer to everything is "be Zenyatta".
When I solo queue, if I complain enough for two support, and play Zenyatta, it's usually close or a win. If I can't get a second healer, it's really hit or miss depending on how fast I can build my ult. Also basically my second favorite character to play. Even with the nerf to Discord Orb, he's still wayyyyyy strong.
Had a horrible game on Hollywood the other night. 1m for payload left, 4 people dead and I come out of the spawn point with fully charged orbs and 1 shot someone. A second later Orb+LMB is another dead person. The reinhardt on the payload turns away for a fraction of a section and gets Orb+LMB, dead too. 3-4 seconds later I finish off someone else, while my entire team is in the spawn point. No POTG. Only 1 vote on my card. -_-
Zenny is a god fo sho
All the healer supports are in a good spot now. They are all viable in competitive, though I hate playing Lucio now. I rather play Zeny, Mercy, or Ana than him.
I've been practicing Zarya and Zeny. is there any optimal way to playing Zeny, i see people fire a discord orb at the same time of the LMB attack, are people able to bind those to the same key or aomething? Or are they just that used to timing the shots?
I set my discord to right click
makes it more intuitive
I just hit E and LMB in succession. It's not really difficult at all.
I love Zeny, too. Problem is that he can't solo heal as effectively, and nobody wants to player healer, so I usually end up Lucio/Mercy.
I never even thought of binding them to the same button, though I do prefer a bit more control, so I don't think I'd use that option?
General tips? Make sure your healing orb is always on someone. There's no reason for it not to be, even if everyone is at full health. Put it on a tank, or whoever looks like they're about to encounter the other team, you can always place it where it's needed as it's needed.
Discord Orb goes up on whatever target you want. You have to prioritize it differently every time. If my team sucks, i'll just put it on my current target. It's great to put on characters with janky movement or who are trying to hide. If I see a Pharah? Your ass is likely going to be orb'd as long as you're in my sight. Rein puts down his shield? That's an orbing. Orb does more than just the increased damage taken, it also makes enemies more visible and easier to target for your team members. Just try to find where it'll be the most useful at the moment. Remember, it takes like two seconds for it to fade off your target, so if they're hiding behind walls, you can still see the marker for a moment, and if you see it coming out of cover, that's useful too.
RMB I charge a lot. If I'm not actively in combat, I just charge it and throw it at points I know the enemy is likely to come from. If you waste it, who cares, there was nothing else going on. It also has it's uses in breaking Reinhardt shields, or charging it to get a big hit on an ult'ing Pharah if you get it in time. It's a joy when you just throw it at a corner hoping someone comes along, and it just absolutely shreds them.
I try to be constantly shooting. Of course I try to be as accurate as possible, but there's really little reason not to be shooting as Zenyatta. The only downside is your reload, so keep that in mind before you attack. Your ult is going to build much faster if you're hitting targets, even if you don't kill them, then from just healing alone.
I almost always try to stay enough distance away that I can still do decent damage with my shots, but not close enough to be caught in a bliz/ult scramble, but close enough to get there. It's infuriating to be a short distance away and not be able to save the team with your own ult, but staying in the group also tends to mean you may get killed before getting a chance. It's about building this sense of when it's safe to be close and when it's better to be further away.
In general, I feel all the supports are pretty viable except Ana. I'd really have to see some great Ana play before I assume it's viable. There are certainly spots where she's better, but they are few and far between. And if you end up in a close up firefight, it feels like it's a lot harder to hit people consistently like when you have a Genji on your team double jumping and wall climbing and dashing all over the place with 20 health left. She is super fun to play, but I definitely feel she needs some kind of balancing, and I couldn't say what it is, because any change feels like it'll make her underwhelming or overwhelming.
Ana is a small counter to the double support meta. Completely nullifies Zeny's ult, so combos well with Black Hole or other high damage moments. Also, her ult charges really fast if she is doing a lot of healing, so it all depends on how well she can utilize it.
I still can't get a hang of using her sleep dart. I should find a better bind for it, but I can't find something that works yet.
I feel the sleep dart should be a sleep grenade. Or that I am simply really, really bad with it. It just doesn't feel reliable and even when I sleep people, half the time they get woken up instantly by other people firing on them, yet somehow manage to live. I also feel she's the most vulnerable of all the support. Her grenade is her only way of self healing, no type of regen, no type of movement and in a heated firefight, she's far more stationary than Mercy / Lucio. Zen has no movement either, but at I feel he does both better damage and higher survivability due to his regenerating shields.
Her ult does charge fast when healing, like, Mercy level fast :3 But I hate not having control and watching people run into corners or spin in circles for three seconds.
I think you meant to say Zenyatta nullifies Ana's ult (among many others).
Sleep Dart use it when people backdoor your Ana/ults to interrupt/Rein charge.
The grenade is powerful when used offensively. Harmony my ass, all your friends are dead Zenny! Seen it in action where Graviton Pulse gets nullified by Zeny ult, to get nuked by an Ana grenade.
With the meta the way it is, Ana is now an option because the double support team makeups. She does have a higher skill ceiling, but she has her place as a possible counter. Solo heal, no way in competitive.
Can throw the grenade out when Zenyatta uses ult so the opposing team doesn't get heals. Directly counters Zenyatta ult.
Sleep dart is also good for interrupting ults such as Genji sword, Roadhog whole hog, McCree deadeye, etc. Acts as a stun and interrupts even if your team wakes them immediately.
GL hitting everyone lol more useful to hit the priority target you want (assuming team follows up on it)
Just won a competitive match as solo Ana heal in the new map~
Edit: Will say this is pretty scary to do in KOTH and would not recommend it.
Because who doesn't love Gremlin D.Va and Calvin and Hobbes?
