Depends on the circumstances, but the example given was that it combos well with Zarya ult. When a Zarya ult goes off, and there's a Zeny on the other team, a lot of times they'll end up using Zeny ult. In this case you grenade to nullify healing and wipe as many as you can.
Single heal can work against another single heal. I don't think I've ever seen single heal trump a double heal simply because in an engagement the double support team can always outheal. This is why double support is the new meta. Everyone runs double heals because when you run single against double you are already at a disadvantage. 1 more DPS is highly unlikely to counter the extra healing.
In the circumstance I mentioned it was against a double healer team.
It isn't the new meta as that was how it was for a while. Currently, season 2 has been seeing in the upper tiers 3 tanks and 3 supports including Ana since she gets the nano fast on the beefy guys. Will have to see how this goes because this may mean people like Mei and Bastion will start to rise to counter this. This is why double support is the new meta.
Last part of season 1 was, what, 2 weeks of season 1? Ok, so it wasn't "new" as in the start of Season 2, but you both knew exactly what I meant. Don't play this game. I have yet to see triple support, triple tank. There haven't been many pro matches recently, either, which may change the way people play because they see the pros doing it.
When is the next tournament? I'm guessing the World Cup which should be ongoing, but I haven't seen any news as to streaming times.
If you were able to win with just an Ana support against a double support then that's great. That would not be a normal occurrence.
Seagull's team ran triple support in the ESL tournament. I don't think they made it past the first few rounds.
i don't see the pros dropping Mcree or Genji anytime soon
NRG made it through 3? losers rounds before dropping I think.
Finally finished my placement ranking. Went 5-4-1 and only placed at 2050. Went 1-0-1 and jumped to 2130 on my win, no gain/loss on the draw. Thought I would have placed a bit higher since one of my placement losses was due to someone leaving after 3 rounds, and had another team that just ran around with it's heads cut off.
Single support is possible with the right comp, like Zarya + Rein/D.Va + Reaper + fill single support comp. Has good mitigation while having decent sustain. In the end, a lot of characters are viable. Some still remain niche picks (Bastion & Torb.) I have been seeing more Mei players since the update because Blizzard is a bit broken hitting through walls but that's a bit beyond the point. I personally don't like playing defensive heroes, and they remain my least played.
I have also noticed an uptick in Phara appearing in my competitive matches. They didn't do much to nerf her counters (minor nerf to 76, damage buff to Zeny left click) but the comps are facilitating her return. Lack of snipers. And I don't see 76 + McCree in tandem a lot. Reapers are consistently out there because the double bruisers, and he can't do too much to an airborne Phara.
Far as I understood it was that way for quite some time...
What did they use against it? I am curious on the comps for both sides and how it was handled. Things been pretty experimental so I am a bit glad it didn't work out for them as that isn't a true meta I'd like to see.
Seagull just got Gold Damage and Elims as Symmetra on Defense at Hanamura. I feel sick.
Solo queue is some new form of torture. No matter what, 100%, there's always at least one mentally disturbed chucklefuck on your team, usually two. There is just nothing you can do to avoid losing in those cases, when they refuse to change, and just do dumb shit.
I'm fairly new when it comes to FPS and such, but is there any chance Blizzard will do something to improve team play? Either like, let us queue into a specific comp (2/2/2) or something to alleviate how bad solo queue is? Just got done dealing with a Genji who was "I'm so going to carry you, I carried you last round" (we lost, he had gold elims with... 6...) Refused to change, refuse to group up, didn't flank. It's like taking a cheese grater to your genitals.
I would as well just to see the lines that come up.
I'm not overly surprised about the Elims since a good Symmetra can do very well and her turrets get her a lot of kill participation. I'm more surprised about the Gold Damage and if the opposing team tried to counter with a Winston at any point.
What the hell with that? Was their Winston stupid or something? Winston and Tracer should have easily been taking care of turrets. Only time I ever got gold damage with Sym was a team that just kept running into my room of death right when S1 first came out. Was almost like a conga line.
Just lost 4 or 5 in a row because people refuse to switch, group up, or play healer.

Did they ever say they fixed how Lucio and junkrat were getting fucked on how much rank they go up for a win versus other characters?
With how bad some people are I can't blame people for not wanting to play healer. I had 2 rounds in a row where a McCree/Tracer on the enemy team went on a spree since nobody bothered to counter them.
I managed to headshot the Tracer and kill her. I had 1 Elim and had bronze. I knew then the team was fucked.
