How has the pro scene been reacting to Symmetra's buffs?

Had one of those teams that worked well together, hit the button to stay as a team, all talking, communicating. Went up about 300 SR together, 6 stack. Assuming that was the problem.

Lost 5 in a row. 4 of them to Symmetra. Teams just 100% buffing Symmetra. Mercy beams, Rein guarding Symmetra. Killed her, killed their healers, 4 of us dead, 2 of them alive, 4 Rez, Symmetra and Mercy got back out there... Game over. We tried D.Vas, Winston, to deal w/ her turrets, Pharah to locate and destroy TP/Generator... 18 Rez's in a 2CP match, and 6 minutes on Point B and couldn't even dent it. This, times 4 matches. And I don't think my team sucked, they were wracking up a crazy number of kills, I had 60+ assists (offense/defense) and... Nothing. You just lose >_<

There are definitely some maps where she's weaker, but not weak enough to not be a viable pick.

Oh I fully agree. With her shield generator, she is a must pick on Defense. People ask me when I play her "Are you doing teleporter or shields?" Shields. Everytime. "But it's a long way back" Shields. With competent healers and tanks, with 75 regenerating extra HP you will never die. I find her damage just a nice bonus, but I've always played fast and loose with Sym like that and usually end up gold kills.

Of course the downside to all of this is Eichenwalde is now basically cancer to play on. At least half my games there are draws, if not more. It was already very defense heavy, in a game where the defense is currently so strong. Add in 75 HP for your whole team on top. GG You're not getting through.

The matches you win vs a Sym team are the ones where Sym is shy. Like, I love to be defensive, pop turrets, use shield properly, poke in as needed. But it's the Sym's who go nuts... If you have a generator up, take out 1 person, die, and while running back your turrets cost the opposing team another death, you're basically trading 1 body for 2. If you go nuts and are supported, it's like trading 1 death vs 3-4... It's nuts. I'm really eager to see if there's a good counter to it, so far it seems "Get her dead before she can build ult, or GG"

I think one issue is how strong the shield/teleporter's health pool is. I think someone said it takes 3 full clips out of Tracer's guns just to kill them.

Granted I never tried with Tracer, but they seemed to soak up a nice chunk of damage when I found/took them out with Reaper.

The TP/Generator is difficult to deal with because of it's health. As in, I was on Rein, charged into that little room on King's Row at the end, got Nano as I was charging, and ended up right next to it. 5 swings later, it was dead. 5 swings of a nano boosted rein is ... kind of a lot. I feel balancing Symmetra is going to be one of Blizzard's tougher challenges. The TP/Generator is flat out too difficult to kill now. But take off even 50 health or something, and it'd be too easy. Maybe instead give it lower health but on destruction damages whoever kills it, like 75 damage? Or do that only for the generator, but not the teleporter?

Her weapon range needs to go back to where it was before or something, way too huge a range that requires no aiming.

I think Sym is fine... if anything reducing her range from 7 down to 6 or back to 5 wouldn't destroy her, but it hardly necessary unless she's just got an incredibly well synergized team and yours is retarded. But as it stands, she's useful now, even in some instances past the first point... and I've seen her used to some success, even in Masters+, on attack.

I'm happy with her being useful, I don't think a quick renerfing is in order just yet...

Sym's dueling ability is much improved. Her health isnt all that great, but a suicidal sym with a shield on her can melt your backline in a scrum. She's absolutely a pub stomper.

They are scary beyond all hell.

Ended a match with 44 kills the other day with Symm but I wouldn't have done it without a supportive team.

Blizzard needs to fix their backfill system. Gotta love being put in a game that ends before the "Select your hero" finishes.
