Maybe I'm having bad luck then? Last game was a shit show of the worst sort. Mei blocking first point at Hanamura and sure enough our Rein fell for it every. single. god. damn. time.

Oh and nobody tried to go as something to climb up the top and harass her.

maybe 1/10 qp games have been competitive where people actually give a shit play a decent comp. same as it ever was for me.

It's just bad that your MMR and SR is handled by wins/losses, so playing solo has become more of a nightmare.

Comp Game: 4 instalock DPS, 1 tank, 1 healer (me as Lucio since I'm solo healing). Map was Nepal. We're on the point and I have 2 idiots spamming the "Need Healing!" emote, one of which being a Diamond. I have/had healing on because we were just fighting on the other team. So I got on mic and just said "Do you not know how healing works with Lucio?" then turned my mic back off. Thankfully they quit emoting after that. I had line of sight on everyone that needed healing, so that wasn't an issue. They just wanted to be healed to max instantly.

Really wish everyone was forced to have at least 1 hour with each healer before they're allowed to use the "Need Healing!" emote.

A few days ago I also had a guy get pissed at me on voice chat because I didn't use my Revive on 1 person on King's Row defense. The attacking team had 5-6 there and reviving 1 person wasn't going to do shit so I decided to save it. Once they guy bitched at me for it I walked back towards spawn and suicided. I then changed to Hanzo or something stupid. I was the only healer as well. Someone eventually changed to healer, but I'm not going to put up with that shit. If you're going to bitch at someone playing healer, you better be prepared to take over the role.

In comp a lot of times I'll swallow my pride and move on when it comes to bitching, not all the time though lol. Usually I'll just mute them and try to do my best to win ignoring them.

I do find I get bitched at a lot less on healer the higher I get. Also I get lucky by keeping to school nights. Weekends are cancer.

Example of the shitbirds I get paired with.

Watchpoint Gibrony, on defense. Enemy team running a pseudo-dive Comp with Winston+Pharah harassing back line. our team has me and Ghost (Zen/Road), a 3 man group (Sombra, Ana, Rein) and a Random I forget what he was on. 3 Man group refuses to join party chat, asked nicely once or twice, and gave up asking. Okay so Winston+Pharah are clearly fucking us up cause we have no counter for either of them, and whenever Winston dives anyway, no one bothers to fucking help.

So i go "Hey, they have a Pharah, I might need to swap to counter unless anyones a good Hitscan" I wait til about the second checkpoint before I swap to Reaper to counter Winston diving our healers, and I rely on the other dude to counter Pharah (He goes junkrat... IDK). Naturally they still roll us. by that point they had ult momentum and we were fucked, and junkrat was not a solution.

So, the conclusion to this is the Ana complaining that Reaper and Junkrat don't counter Pharah, I said "Yah, I was countering the Winston who consistently kept our healers dead", and then they decided to instead complain I switched off healer, to which I said "I asked someone to swap, you ignored me, and I had to make a call, die to Winston over and over and get no value from my role, or try to counter him to keep you alive". Hindsight 20/20 I could have picked Mcree and countered both, but with how fast we were being rolled I'd of never had a chance to regroup and set up positioning for him...

Silence. I didn't even bring up the useless fucking Sombra who not so much as contributed a single iota of value to the team, but apparently it wasn't their friends fault for playing a shit class for defense, but also not swapping to counter the only two heros on their team that were consistently wiping us... no... it was me and the randoms fault for trying to do something to win... though the Junkrat pick I can't defend.

But this is why I hate rolling the dice in comp. Two games in a row (ignoring previous one for this post) I got a group of 3 who refused to communicate, the second of which having the balls to complain about counter picks when their shit friend was contributing nothing. I kept my cool in that match much more than ranting to you guys, i just needed to blow off the steam.

Fuck people like that.

I remember having a smiliar experience with a salty Zarya that kept complaining I was a "shit Ana" for not healing her. Kinda hard to heal when you're getting flanked and need to focus on fighting the enemy team to protect your goddamn self since nobody else will.

It's pretty much why I've been saying fuck it to being a healer as of late. I'm pretty much at the point where if I'm getting killed shortly after regrouping with the team and calling out the flanker harassing me I just switch off a healer. If my team isn't going to give a fuck then neither will I.

I'm trying real hard not to get to the point I say "fuck it" and just pick whatever hero I need to pick to counter their best member, even if it means swapping off healer.

But I'm getting real close to this mindset :/. Tired of healing idiots and I'm tired of being in a role I can't easily swap off of without screwing our team comp

Unfortunately, we can't do much as solo queue is still bad. I really enjoyed getting to play in season 2 when reaper was strong, i was solo queueing as reaper and was winning games left and right. S3 with this "tank meta" made solo queueing a nightmare, i have no idea why more people pick widow/hanzo/junkrat than ever before. We were 2-2 in nepal in one match, then our lucio for some reason switched to junkrat and threw the stupid match, everyone proceeded to shit on him afterwards. We had a solid set of plays too.

Had a competitive match last night where people were screaming to kill the rampaging Winston, not realizing that all their focus fire on him was useless as they were ignoring the fucking mercy pocket healing him the entire time. I bring up that if they want Winston dead, focus the fucking mercy first and nothing but crickets as they continue to shoot at winston while Mercy gets to charge her ult and spam it constantly.
