I play on Xbox and had to get myself a headset after dropping from 2100 to 1800. Usually no one even joins chat. There was one game where I was playing Winston and everyone accused me of throwing in messages and I was like well this could've been avoided with a headset lol. This morning I had a good game with people communicating which made everything so nice and easy. I knew what they wanted, where they were going and what they were planning which made my life as Mercy a breeze. Now I'm back above 2000 at least and going up. Ill probably never get past gold though because I just can't play enough games regularly to maintain what little skill I do have lol.

Competitive is really just luck of the draw though. I hate getting stuck on healers but if you don't do it then the whole game is just done before you step out of the spawn. Its even worse though when dps/tanks just insist on running out and dying 1 by 1 or just can't get kills and I'm running around as a healer just like if we try and switch roles we could maybe win.

My high is 2700. I've dropped due to leavers and griefers or just general bad teams. I'm now around 2200 and pounding my head against my desk with how bad teams are at this level. "We don't need two healers on defense, Mercy is great"

It's never safe, with that realization, i said fuck it, and started just playing comp only, there's no way i'm gonna get better by playing qp anymore, unless i'm trying someone out.

I only QP to derp around on Widow or a DPS since I get tired of playing support 85% of the time.

And allegedly there's the "Support gaining less SR" bug again with Mercy. A fix is probably happening tomorrow during the usual patch time.

I don't mind seeing a D.Va. Its when I see a D.Va, Lucio, and like 3 dps that I'm like contemplating lighting my xbox on fire. (Because of course that last person who is waiting to pick a hero does so after the match has started and they pick like Hanzo or something.) Why do people always switch off healers when they see a Lucio. You know he can't solo heal the whole team dammit. lol

I can deal with Sombra as she is good, but the player being good is another story. D.Va is fine, Orisa is a massive hit or miss with me, I force myself to play road or rein who i really suck with, or zarya to accompany, i try to be a team player. I do need to learn winston because holy shit i actually play him in comp (0 min lol) and do not so bad with him.

Maybe I just had back luck last night then. D.Va and Zarya/Roadhog being the only tanks just seems like a set up for failure.

D.Va is a good solid tank, i'm pretty decent with her, but she's dependent on A: Having a Rein to work with, and B: not having a team full of downs. In maps like anubis with a horrible choke I think she's as good or better than Rein for breaking through just due to defense matrix being able to eat everything while Rein and the rest of the group run up.

If true, that makes my climb from 2450 to 3000+ with 85%+ playtime on Mercy feel pretty good.

I've been playing Winston more lately. He's so satisfying to play when your team has their shit together. It's so addicting to hop in and kill some squishes then hop back out. Also getting those clutch victories on escort maps by ulting and just shoving everyone away feels so good. Lol

Same here. Been doing Winston because my main is Pharah and I've been having issues with her. Plus it's likely she'll get nerfed soon because the OF won't shut up about it. Winston ia really fun, especially when you're just tearing up their back line and leaping all over.

Wtf are the forums crying about pharah? Fucking soldier's damage needs to be nerfed a bit, that guy being a staple in dps meta is ridiculous.

Pharah isn't the problem so much as it's Pharah+Mercy, she dominates lower levels of play with incompetent hitscan. That's why they're complaining.

I can personally say as a support often keeping these incompetent DPS alive, Pharah is fucking awful to deal with. No healer can effectively combat here, they're all projectile Heros except Ana's alt fire and her shooting rips her healing potential from her and can lead to dead tanks.

I can 1v1 Genji or Tracer if they aren't good, Pharah plays distance and is very powerful.

But yah, I can take her as McCree but I'm stuck on healer most games.

I've been running Winston on KotH maps only and I've been having a great time. If you run against a smart team with good aim and solid close range DPS (Hog, Reaper, etc.), you're going to have a bad time; however, most KotH games are a shitshow on the point (at least around 3k they still are) and you just eventually mow the healers down, with the rest following.

My favorite recent Winston moment was me on the point with Zen and a nanoboosted Rein charging in. Ult'd then periodically smacked the Rein away; nothing he could do.

As for Ppharah. I believe how "OP" she is varies on a lot of things. One thing is braindead DPS, but a good Phrah with map knowledge will know how to avoid the main routes and just fuck up backlines.
