Overwatch, It Isn't New Anymore

I went to the Overwatch battle net forum, and I see a lot of people are complaining about 20 tick server? comparing it to CS:GO's 60 tick server. I haven't encountered this problem myself probably because i'm not that good at the game yet to even have that kind of problem, but I can see why this is going to be a problem if Blizzard is trying to market this as an e-sport kind of game.

The only thing I've seen, and tbh not sure if this is a server tick issue or not, is getting hit by Hanzo arrow's (and Roadhog chains) that I'm almost certain did not actually hit me both from my perspective and the replay's perspective.

I've seen some damn good Genji's just outright wreck a team with his ult. If i'm pharrah and I hear the ult go off, I rocket boost and hover for like 5 seconds.

Pretty solid review/critique of the netcode.

And I haven't seen this game pushed yet to be an e-sport. If anything, it will naturally develop its own scene whereupon Blizzard will cash in once the roots have been established. Won't be like MLG with Halo or CoD for few months, but in time, when there's money to be made by Blizzard and sponsors, it will be inevitable.

Hanzo's arows have a hitbox that's like... a column with a width of 2', starting 2' below the actual arrow, extending 6' upwards for "knee hit" headshots. Exaggeration but fuck that shit lol

I'm not sure people realize you can and should change who you are playing to combat certain threats, particularly if the rest of your team seems ineffective at dealing with them.

Had something like this happen last night. Had Reinhardt's shield up and I suddenly got dropped when at low health, figured someone slipped to my flank and hit me. But the replay showed a Hanzo in front of me shoot me in the head through the shield. Wasn't lag or anything, the shield was clearly up for a good few seconds before the shot even happened and was up til death.

That will always be one of my favorite PotG's. There is another one i can't find, where Reindhardt charged a hallway and took an entire team into a pit for their deaths. Best suicide charge ever.

Most characters honestly can function in most situations if you know how to use them. That being said, there are always comps that will fundamentally function better than other comps. I.E. Hanzo could work on offense or defense, but if they have a Reaper/Genji that's doing a good job of getting into the back lines, you're just wasting a slot by staying on Hanzo.
