They really need to look at the rankings. I went 1-2 yesterday in CP. First loss was due to someone quitting and rejoining constantly when we were on offense and almost pushed the last cap, then was non existent on defense. I lost 3/4 of a whole rank. My other loss our team played like shit, I was 2x gold 2x silver as Soldier 76 and I lost .3 of a rank. My one win I got about .6 of a rank. Such bullshit how much you lose due to someone playing with shitty net or just trolling.

I agree. If someone drops the game it shouldn't effect your rank, or if it does, it shouldn't as much as it does.

I will pay good money for a console McCree teammate who can actually shoot a flying Pharah. Landing at least 1 of 15 flashbangs on a flanking Genji and using high noon from literally anywhere other than in front of the opposing Rein's shield would also be nice.

Mcree hast to be the least console friendly player right? or maybe widow? i was watching some of the tournament on twitch yesterday and those top Mcree players are fucking NUTS. idk how anyone could do that with a controller.

McCree, Widow, Hanzo definitely not console friendly.

McCree can break a Rein shield and get some kills on the team behind it if they wait until the last second to use their ult. Problem is not dying before then.

5x top 500 players and a rank 71. We proceed to take it to 5 rounds and lose the last round 99-99 in OT. Fucking epic, but wanted to win so badly. Their Pharah was the best player I've ever seen; had to be using KB/M on PS4.

Probably. I had one that was just as bad but we somehow won. Was gold on everything (including healing since everyone refused to switch) except eliminations where I was silver and off by 2 as soldier76

Wait that White thing with the symbol means top 500?

I had that symbol appear for me on and off when I was doing competitive and just thought it was nothing.

There was a bug when competitive mode first started where you would see it on yourself by mistake. If it's recent then maybe you are just that good.

Haha yes bug was fixed; team was nuts. Sitting at 61 again in the end which works for me after getting pwnt in soloQ today and dropping to a low of 58.

Played S76 for a few hours this morning and was really enjoying it; may make it my DPS main when someone else has taken support duties. Nailing a squishy with a Helix Rocket is very satisfying. Also, finally being able to kill the ubiquitous Pharah that is obliterating me on Mercy / Zen is great.

On a related note, S76 players who tout their medal count after each match need to relax a bit. First time playing him, and I averaged ~4 medals per match and ended one non-healer game with 4 gold and a silver. Super easy to pick up elims, dmg, obj elims, obj time, and healing on him.

Yeah sorry bud, but you didn't miss much. Good thing though is that when you lose as an avg 62 to an avg 75, you lose like zero rank XP. Like a quarter of one of those hash marks.

Found out you'll get rewarded based on your season-high rank and not your current rank. Fucking sweet IMO, takes all the salt out of the tilts. I hope that is what gets displayed on your profile post season too.

Maybe I'm dumb and that's common knowledge, but I was in the dark going full salt on losing streaks lol

is there a definitive breakdown of how competitive rank xp is calculated? A win is usually 2 bars but sometimes i get like 4 bars or as little as 1 and a half. it is pretty infuriating not knowing why because a loss is pretty much always 4 bars.

Your personal performance is factored in but its not definitive. This is however: streaks. Win or lose 3/4/5 in a row and you will start gaining/losing a full rank as long as the streak is kept going. And when the streak breaks it will generally be a minor shift and you can quickly keep it riding again if you get back on the same path. The game aggressively uses streaks to move you where it thinks you belong. So if you're hot and lose one game you'll generally not lose a lot. If you're struggling, the rare win will also not give you much.

If you're alternating wins/losses and still not seeing consistent movement then your performance might be hit or miss.
