The point I am trying to make is that this should not be an acceptable excuse. If there is ONLY one way to certain ends, people WILL do them. Its impossible to bypass Genkai, so people deal with it. Its impossible to avoid grinding for merits so people do it. 99% of VW groups wont wait on people to restone at 4 kills so people go out and get the KI. Yes being able to warp around is a small thing in the grand scheme of things but adding in "lazy" ways to obtain them makes it acceptable for people to be lazy about other things, old content or not (like I said Genkai is about as old as it gets and people still deal with it). Small steps like this eventually lead to bigger/more drastic steps i.e
"Skills should have always auto capped so its fine if SE made that adjustment"
"Exping is basically afking in Abyssea so its fine if all jobs are auto capped since I levelled 1 job legitimately"
"Crafting doesn't really make a lot of money outside of HQing so its fine if a NPC is added to do crafts for us if they cant HQ"
"Making a Mythic/Empy/Relic takes too long and I cant play that much so its ok that SE added weapons that are basically comparable but take a few hours to farm so I don't feel left out of the parse or am refused entry into a pug"
    and so on.

Sorry for bringing this out of context
It's not even that far from truth to be fair, if you use the poshack trick.
But I wouldn't go as far as to define the sort of player who can complete a mythic in 60 days or less an "average player"
I made mine in 90 days using that method. >_>

Played with the Diremite and Hippogryph NMs. The diremite seems to love Hundred Fists, like uses it every 90 seconds or so. Also seems to have some sort of hate reset or otherwise weird hate thing. The hippogryph has horrible horrible accuracy, with only like 750 on myself he had a hard time hitting me. I don't know if that was caused by something or if he's always like that, but it was a very easy fight. Sticking to magic damage (Lunge, QD, magic WS) was very practical and I had no issue duoing him as RUN with friend on COR.

Is it me or is this event once again profoundly unfun. Does SE think repeating the same horrible random dice game over and over again is somehow enjoyable? God, this is like going back to Voidwatch.

How do you fight those new NMs they added in SoA areas? Are they triggered/popped or lotto?

I haven't popped one myself but based on discussion in this thread they appear to be trigger popped. The trigger can be obtained by mobs nearby.

    Reference Example

From the anecdotes and dats it seems to be 5 new popped NMs..one new NM per zone from the 5 lower maps. Would be nice if it becomes a tiered system in future haha.. Love those.

I have no idea if this has been posted already yet, but you get 20k Bayld from assisting others with the new SoA fights, with the exception of the final final fight, which rewards 25k Bayld. It seems to be a repeatable reward for helping as well, got the rewards twice from helping two players now. So essentially, every time you help out someone with all 5 of the new SoA BC fights, you get 105k Bayld. Not bad!

that applies allready to previous mission fights. they added that months ago as an incentiv to help people through missions. same applies to geo and run AF fights out on the field

    Uh... no.
I mean for me of course.
At least that's not the problem I have with FFXIV.
Making shit random in a frustrating way you cannot control is not the right way to make stuff feel "different", imho. That's an unavoidable thing anyway, you can slow down the process to get there but you WILL get there eventually.
Random stuff should always be kept to the minimum possible, players should always have at least a certain degree of control over stuff happening.
When something goes wrong it should be because of mistakes, not because something beyond your control happened.

I might be biased but I can't stand the excess of random shit in this game (yet here I am, been playing it for 11 years lol).
Well I guess that's because some things were more random and annoyed me, others were moderately random and I liked that?

Not sure what you're comparing to VW. Both the popped SoA NMs and Wanted NMs don't seem to have that bad of a drop rate overall, not amazing 1 and done on em, but not 0/50 either. If not for the mats to +1 Wanted NM gear, I don't think there would be much replay value to it as I haven't seen anything worth anything from the coffers besides gear and the +1 mats. Was hoping for HMPs and such, but meh.

SoA NMs aren't bad in a CP group setting. Take out a group to the area, slaughter all the things for decent CPs, go and chain pop NM once you get a few pop items, go back to CPing, repeat. Drop rate here seems much worse even with TH, but I wouldn't begin to call it anything near VW.

Far as being enjoyable, game is only really enjoyable with good friends/LS IMO. If you're restricted to the PUG community, you prolly hate this game with ever fiber of your being.

I think he was talking about the 11/11 event with the grab bags...
Which I don't even think are worth doing.

I made a group to farm highwing helms and just let me tell you that both Nesting Hippogryphs and the NM hippogryph have jesus evasion. By that, I mean in my max acc set on DRG/SAM with Ionis and Sole Sushi +1 with distract II and 2 Madrigals, they still conned high evasion. Even switching to gungnir, they were still neutral and just barely low evasion. If you don't have near 1200 accuracy, you will want to slit your wrists fighting those mobs. The NM is easy, if you can hit him. Mythic thf took off 30-40% of his HP from a light sc from a 300% sata mandalic stab(did a 32k light skillchain). Drop rate was meh, took us about 3 hours to get 6 helms, we went like 5/29 and gave up on our 6th member because we got tue first 4 helms within the first 15 kills, so people got tired and had to sleep after 15 kills without drops(farming is tedious due to umbril/dullahan hp aggro in the same room as pop mobs and they would respawn quicker than we could beat them so kept reaggroing and was 5am.

If you do that NM bring 2 DD's, a THF, WHM, BRD and GEO. Geo is great cuz they favor nihilty song which aoe dispels buffs including food(so bring cheap sushi), geo's bubbles help keep your acc high despite dispels, so you acc/eva down bubbles.

This. I guess I'm a sucker for costume items, but it'd be nice if SE made this shit even remotely fun. Do you know what the Halloween event was? Follow an NPC and trade it candy, piece by piece. Sometimes it transforms you and you can't trade again till you stop and remove the costume.

I traded over 300 pieces. That isn't fun on any planet.

DNC is pretty good for this kind of situation too. Lv10 Quickstep helps everyone's acc (and doesn't rely on player buffs), good native accuracy. At the very least, someone /DNC (but DNC main get higher level steps and can apply more reliably & quickly).

Also someone else reported jug evasion down lands if you give them meva down. Not sure how much evasion the mobs have based on your description but sounds like it's at least 1200 which would be -300 and also can't be dispelled

Was hard enough getting 6 ppl to be brave and try new shit, let alone going with specific jobs. The dnc thing is a good idea though.
