I've never had anyone else online ever assume I was female, and I use the name Martel on every FFXI related forum I've ever been on. Heck, my avatar on the OF is a elvaan male(same name too), and I know we've exchanged words over there. So I was wondering if you were messing with me.

The vast majority of physical ws are blockable. CDC, and everything AAHM does included. The general exceptions were as I noted.

How is the Unity situation in your servers?
On Asura after months of Maat always being in the first place, someone decided he had to be a douche and started an "unity war".
Now every week the Unity who's in the first place is different.
One time is Maat, one time is Pjeuje, one time is Amchuchu and so on.
Been like that for the past 5 weeks, it's annoying.
I don't get what, who started this, was trying to achieve, other than fucking up Unity bonus for all of the server, himself included.

SE needs to think something about this.
What's necessary imho is:

1) Make so you get the best bonus as long as your unity is within the FIRST THREE, not the first
2) Keep the "change once per week" policy, but greatly reduce the cost to swap unities. Something like 2500 Accolades max. Fuck that 10k wasted every week to swap between unities. Altough if they implement point 1) there won't be as much necessity as now to swap unities.

I personally always stay in last place to get the accolade bonus; perhaps people just started preferring that over slightly better stats.

That's... not something I thought of.
I think it can kinda make sense.
Most of the unity stats bonus are minor (some are quite vital and transforms an item from a sidegrade/meh to a BiS), but then again even the bonus you get from being in the last spot is quite minor?
It's what, +10% accolades from RoE?

It's +40% to all methods of accolade gain for last place.

I always switch to rank 1 unity every conquest update for the refresh pants. That alone is worth it. I do have other unity gear which is a plus, but the refresh pants alone is enough. Not like I'm using accolades for much anyway. The bonus accolade accumulation doesn't mean much to me.

Well those accolades are effectively worth 10 gil each just to convert (forget actually using them for fights) so basically paying 100k a week to switch...

Who cares? It's just 100k. Don't you bot your accolades to cap anyway? Not everyone goes around trying to exploit every system they can think of. Accolades weren't meant to be NPCed, neither were blinkers. I don't see accolades and think $$$$$, that's something a botter thinks

I bet if you use your merits for fights that must be exploiting too!!! Don't you dare use your sparks! That aside you do know that you can convert them to ya know cape augment crystals right?

Wow a whole crystal to *maybe* get a shot at possibly making one of my capes marginally better. Or, you know, I can get an actual guaranteed benefit for an entire week by switching to rank 1.

Some people actually use the extra accolades given by being in last place to do more unity fights for gear. You don't get much benefit from being in first if you don't have much gear yet, due to bad luck or something else.

That's fine but I already have everything I need from Unity, so the extra accolades don't do much for me besides some meaningless chump change which I would gladly exchange for the benefits (People pay hundreds of millions of gil for STR+1, so this is nothing)

1) Cost to change should be lower
2) max bonus should be applied to first 3 unities, not first only
