January Update

Summary:

TIER 3 all the way to Punika
- T3 dungeons to Oreha Well
- Chaos Dungeon Stage 3
- Velganos Guardian Raid
- Level 60
- Additional T3 content will be added post launch to set pace of progression
- Korean Voice over option (free dlc)
- Certain early cutscenes are skippable now
- Progression speed has been balanced
- Name restrictions: Special characters (!@#$%, etc.), capitalized letters other than the first letter of the name (e.g., McFly, WeIrDoGuY), and spaces
- Names cannot be reused after character deletion (Requires manual process from amazon, they will look into it for future)
- Guild names 2-20 characters
- Character Names 2-16 characters
- Character voice options at creation, 3-4 options per class
- All founder pack contents except title and 3day head start stack (Must be one of each type of pack, not duplicate)
- Founder packs will go to Product Inventory -> Character inventory Open the skin packs on character you want to use
- Founder skins only available to 15 launch classes
- Guild Leader transfer happens after 10days of inactivity (goes to "Deputy of the Guild")
- Time limited events from KR/RU will come to our version in future

Another announcement coming next week with launch day instructions for players, a launch server list, information about weekly reset times, the exact server open and pre-download times, and more. They will also share business model, road map, and patch notes before launch

If you plan to play it seriously, you will be required to play several classes. Endgame progrtession unfotunately requires it

definitely not gonna do any sort of hard or even midcore stuff, just get to level cap and dink around once in a while

Most I see is 3 alts if you want to super-rush one main to as high an item level as possible, but that's still only a part of the picture. You need the consumables, which are gated behind estates and supply, which is only going to make those raids harder due to those lack of supplies; at the very least pointedly more expensive. The game has gradually raised the Tier level, and so the economy has raised with it. With us getting T3 at the start, those who rush are going to be pointedly strained by the lack of supplies, if the main methods stay the same, and alts aren't going to help that.

That said, most people aren't going to do go hardcore, and there's more than plenty to do instead of pushing that content. I'd say do alts if you like the gameplay, but don't feel obligated.

Amazon recently confirmed that Knowledge Transfer will be available for launch. For those that don't know, this is basically using your in game gold to have a character lvl'd to 50. So for every character you manually level to 50, you get access to the ability to boost an additional one for a negligible gold cost (thus making the process of re-leveling a lot less painful). Surprised that they would include this as I figured selling paid boosts was going to be a huge part of their cash shop income but this is honestly fantastic!

Lost Ark Directors Trailer - They actually picked a VA to be the Korean Director's voice for the NA release, so the video is basically the director welcoming everyone and showing what's available. The game has a lot more than just dungeons and raids, so it's worth a look as it highlights the variety the game has to offer:

So I'm of course a cheapass and plan to spend 0 on the game. In this scenario, besides cosmetics, what am I cutting myself out of? I'll install to have a look around and mess around, but no plans to no life it haha

edit: I also plan to use steam, no negatives there right? assuming there's no standalone client

edit2: i just looked up the various founder packs, i see there's a lot of little buffs here and there to quality of life/time saving, so all is as expected then i guess

The account aura is the main thing, which have a couple of things that are really nice (teleports and 10% faster Life Skill regeneration), but everything else is cosmetic or nice to have if you know you'll play.
