Far as I can tell it's only 8 skills at a time, although when nothing is on cooldown you can switch between loadouts.
I'm also debating if I should claim everything on my first character or play a bit more. At one point I thought I was going to try and get on the same server as a friend, but I'm not sure I care enough to start over.
Which is pretty fucking retarded because at that point you're not asking for Diablo, you're asking for a completely different game, which now exists. The answer to fixing Diablo isn't stripping it down and making it into a new genre, it's not being pieces of shit and supporting the game properly post-launch. Add actual new content, interesting leagues, and to do all that start with a better foundation than just "uh idk a couple Uber bosses and rifts".
You mother fuckers are still honeymooning and probably haven't even hit soft cap yet, you'll be singing a different tune once the Korean grind fest begins and you fail enchantments 26 times in a row and have to wait weeks for new materials to try again or have to drop $500 to bring your sword to +15.
You get a 9th ability at 50 once you get to Vern. I suggest waiting to claim untradable and class locked items until you have settled on a main class because once you lock in a main you will not be able to switch without spending thousands of dollars. You're safe to use your founders pack costumes though since you'll be getting another set of them tomorrow. Also, mounts and pets are locked to your roster so you can use those too once you are ready to settle down on your server.
Diablo needs something to keep the 90% playing after 2 months. It needs to be more like a MMO than its traditional format. Times have changed. Take the good from a game like Lost Ark and traditional Diablo/POE and try to innovate.
You don't need the game to be a full blown MMO to keep people engaged. PoE's leagues are more than sufficient to keep people coming back to play again and again and again, and it can't really be argued in good faith that PoE is not the best arpg ever to have been created (and unless Blizzard shapes up, that probably won't change). Diablo 3 could have done something similar, but instead they decided to go with the laziest, shittiest possible seasonal ladder that they could have possibly come up with. If they need to steal anyone's notes, it's GGG's. Keep the KRMMO shit out.
I also expect LA to wane once the new game smell wears and relative first-timers come to see how KRMMOs roll at their endgame. It may not be as catastrophic and quickly as NW, but I'd generally sideline to games like Tera, ArcheAge, BDO, and so on as precursors of longevity before this age of "OMG LOOK AT THE TWITCH NUMBERS!"
As for Diablo, I'll continue to assert that Seasons in any form are a mistake and content related to them should not be treating players as glorified beta testers. In general, Seasons represent a dev's lack of willingness to tackle MUDflation within their own games while too many players buy into the hype of fresh starts and even playing fields when it's just the same no-lifers and RMT dictating the economy soon after each start, while older characters are basically doomed to never see the full game experience again. Timely releases of new content are pivotal, but also need to be for everyone without the historically accepted strings of tossing away prior efforts. Solid build variety should do the rest, but some players also need to come to terms that we're past the days of one game dominating the average gamer's time for years straight. There's some more nuance that ultimately focuses on game-specific things, but any dev out there thinks they can launch an ARPG, you can't just do that and forget about it. But that's just my observations as a consistent midcore gamer that consistently sees casual friends chased off while hardcores are never, ever satisfied no matter how much you lick their sweaty taints.
Will say that it probably won't fall off as hard or as fast as BDO since the competitive side of the game is a sideshow and doesn't benefit from the cash shop at all. Most people 100% gonna get filtered as soon as they hit T2 though. Some already bitching that they can't hit 600 to enter Yorn, and 600 is like the very beginning baby step of T2.
Playing through now I'll probably try to beat the story and 100% the Adventurers log for each zone that I can, after that IDK how deep I'll stay into the endgame as I've played enough Korean Grinder MMOs in my day to know that I thoroughly hate them. Too many currencies split between too many activities between too many weekly lockouts between too much RNG Failures on upgrades, with a "Pay 2 win" cherry on top
Edit: Also the Marketplace died and went under maintenance on like, the first night, and I lost my 3-day Wing bonus for new accounts and the Marketplace is still dead as of right now lol. I couldnt give them money if I wanted too
You can put all of the "Treasure Chest Icon" rewards into rooster(account) storage and open them on any character, at which they usually bind, unless they are again, account/rooster level items.
Hit end game start tonight. Guardians are a lot easier then I thought they would be, and as a collector, there's so much to do and gear is just a portion of it. I need to remember to use the ocean liner to go back to previous continents and not sail there....
FYI streamers now have the mount drops enabled. Leave one open for 4 hours and get a mount~
sorceress in chaos dungeon is fun as fuck lol
Queues in the EU region were near 20,000 on some servers yesterday, each, with a total queue approaching 100,000. Apparently they've said they don't have the ability to add regions or allow transfers.
They can add regions, as they just recently added EU West to try and alleviate the situation. They cannot expand on existing regions and server transfers are being tested on Korea servers right now, which means it wouldn't be added here for awhile.
If you're on EU Central, you're basically just fucked.
Especially now with the bots invading. Catastrophic success, indeed.
The botting has been wild, Zerkers and Sorcs running at mounted speed, clipping through walls in some instances. They're completing main-story quest chains, running between two points spamming abilities farming lord know what. Even seen hordes of gibberish names doing mining, logging, and herbing trades. Isn't that stuff all account bound? What's the point?!?!
Guild on Una "Radical Dreamers" is still going if anyone wants to team-up.
They farm the Adventure Tomb collectibles. They need to level up so they can farm the ones in high ilvl continents. I imagine they waste of ton of time trying to get high to only be banned.
Engravings and gathering mats are all essentially free money for a bot so that's why they're doing all of that. Luckily haven't seen any doing archaeology yet which is where the big money is at but that's only a matter of time
