I used 3. It was MP draining but the Lightning carry (I could have done without just much more slowly) helped me conserve MP for the final boss.

Plus if you do like 20% hp a turn or so and always use one debuff on him he cures debuff and gravijas instead of doing anything useful D: He's susceptible to debuff like full break too which is nice.

Eh, he almost wiped me. Were it not for Mal's Lightning pretty much soloing it with Area Blast (he resists fire now), it would've been a bit uglier. AoE pretty much took everyone to yellow/red the 2nd round.

I'm farming the PRO version any time I find a 600+ ATK lightning in my friend list. Could probably do it with 550+, but I don't want to waste 20NRG finding out the hard way. Alucard's lightning is now at 714ATK and I can 2-turn him. Missing my own lightning right about now, but I know I wouldn't be anywhere near as well geared, so I guess it's irrelevant (he is rocking 2 of the gaffgarion TMs, 2 fencer TMs, Sakurafubuki, Excal, and chizu TM).

I think I'm down to only needing about 40k more points, so hopefully I'm almost done.

If you are trying to farm PRO, don't use a lightning friend or a unit with Chirijadin. It does fire damage and makes then do almost nothing, and you will wipe.

I never use Cecil and it sucks that sometimes my FL is littered with them.

First off the last banner had 10% drop rate and he is a 3 star base so a fair amount of people should already have him. Second there is a fair amount of tanks in the game and soon everyone will get access to 6* rain who also has full break. Lastly, using a tank is going to be a one off in most cases as opposed to spamming vortex where you just want to kill faster and grind.

If you have nothing better to offer that's fine but at least put barrage on him to make him worthwhile, I'll take that 415 mag Kefka 9 times outta 10

I'm doing the same thing. I finished the new story today, and if I saw an attractive Lightning for a companion I did the event. I can kill it in two turns with a 600+ Lightning friend.

I think I'm going to keep that up until I snag the 30k moogle, and maybe some of the new awakening materials. According to some people on reddit, the rates in the new awakening dungeon aren't really that great.

Eh, it's more like 6 mobs are doomed to drop shit, really. 1500 candies can get you 10 of whatever, immediately beating the vortex when you further consider you can pick specific ones from the event. Granted, this isn't a permanent advantage, but I'd probably say it's not a bad idea to snag 20-30 of each. Doubt we'll be seeing a glut of fresh 5* units that'll drain that supply quickly.

Personally should be at/near the 30k moogle now. Then it's either save for the 70 or just buy more mats.

I've got everything I want minus the 2 Aura's... which I think I'll just grab the Atk/mag one (I have Lid and Fina, may use Fina over Lena since I have Cecil for backup heals)

the 70k Moogle isn't even on my radar... to steep a price I doubt I'll have enough for it by the end of this event.

If I have any left over I'll snatch up the 6* mats... since I'm sure one day I might need them...

I need about 40k still, which really isn't bad. That's only about 18 runs of PRO. That's the remaining burst pots, plus I have all of the "cheap" 6* mats (20 each of all 6) as well as a small cache of the 5* mats on my "to-buy" list. Then I can get back to TM farming!

I've been 10%~ away from Ultima, DW, Dual Cast, and another Excal for like 3 weeks. Events + story updates are rough on TM progress.

That said, I've really enjoyed this event. Each individual battle is short enough that I don't feel like I'm spending all my time doing it, rewards are fairly priced, and even when you're done buying mats and such, you can sell all your spoils off for massive gil. Each candy sells for 50 each, making Pro almost 70k a run. Not that gil matters, but when you've run out of all else or have a nice stockpile of mats, it surely can't hurt.

I'm pretty much done myself. Skipped the auras because I skipped this banner, got the gear, got all cheap mats, and skipping the 70k Moogle because that price is nonsense. Deciding if I should get back to TMing, finish out the new story, or stockpile even more 6* mats (have 40~ of each) or more of the new 5* mats (bought 50 of each).

What is the best item to get from this event? I am looking at the basket accessory. I cannot clear ADV rider with my mages and I spent the last week farming up a physical team and they aren't any better. I am currently farming INT rider as I can clear that in 3 rounds with a Fire mage team. I know I need better gear and I need to farm up some materia but thats not something I can do simulataneous to the event. If my math is right I'm gonna be able to hit about 25k candy corn before it ends.

Also, is there a decent banner coming up to get support/tanks? The closest thing I have to either is Mustadio. Rain can tank I suppose but he feels pretty useless. I don't have full break or focus on any unit and have to friend these, usually a Vaan but all my friend Vaans are from the start of the game and they aren't geared well so they are solely for buffing my mage team. I need to find a way to get my teams damage up significantly. When this event is over, I need to farm farplane souls like mad to get those +10% magic materia. I burned through what I had and got 3 of them. I only have one +10% attack materia and my physical team may have actually done worse against the rider. ADV rider basically laughed at my fire mages and I thought they would at least do some damage but no.

That basket is the best MAG accessory except for the Earrings (which cost 50 Star Quartz) so if you're using mages it's a must have. I think the XIII banner is a good one for support (Sazh) and tank (Snow). Sazh should be easy enough to get because he's 3* base (no 6* yet) but Snow is 4* so good luck pulling for him.
We'll eventually get 6* Rain and he gets Full Break as well.

Edit: Another good banner for support is FFIII with Ingus. This same banner features Luneth and Refia and both are top tier units.

That's the next banner to hold out for IMO. XIII's banner will definitely help improve your team, but III's will be the better one to save for.

If you're having issues with the event, list your ID. I'll make room and send an invite, well geared Lightning can go a long way to making runs easier. Imagine others with well geared Kefkas and such would be happy to friend too.
