OKAY! I need details on FFBE. How does buff stacking/overwrite work? I open the fight with Embolden but get Pecil's LB by round two. Casting it overwrites Embolden, yes? And it's a good idea since Embolden is 40/40 and LB is base 50 and can get to 74-75%, correct?

You've got the right of it. Stronger buffs always take precedence. They don't actually overwrite funny enough. Say you did Embolden then Cecil's LB on the same turn. After turn 3 and Cecil's wears off, you'll still have the Embolden effect for another two turns. Only other thing to add is buffs and debuffs stack so you can't overwrite a debuff with a buff, though you can cancel it out or still have a gain, IE Full Break + Embolden would give you +10% ATK and DEF.

Pulled Mercedes yesterday and Chizuru today. Anyone have an opinion Mercedes? Is she worth bringing up quickly?

Depends on your team. Her Sea King Chop and TM axe aren't bad at all though it's not top end. DPS wise I'd roughly throw her somewhere under Bartz without her TM since there really aren't any other decent options. If you have her TM and DW she'd be right round Lightning IMO.

It gets worse... use FIRE FLASK! It might not cause stop... but it can paralyze, sleep, confuse, blind, poison, and petrify... it is the true evil.

I open with Blizzard Flask and then proceed to Fire Flask as long as I have stopped 2 or 3 units lol.

My main focus atm is to progress through as much story as I can. My goal is two-fold; accumulate Lapis from story completion rewards and work on gaining ranks for more NRG in the long run. I bounce between Chamber of Experience and Story, depending if I need to beef up my team or not. So my question is, should I take time off from grind and do Maze?

Firion is the unit I've been holding on to the longest. I started in pre release with him and I've been waiting for him to become amazing.

6* is good for him, his enhancements make him shine.

Finally finished my blade blitz. TM

Works really well w/ CoD in the arena.

With Chiz to 6 star, and this blade blitz I went from one AoE to 3 (Had just luneth w/ an AoE prior)

Chizuru is such a lackluster 6*. I swapped her in from Elza for my arena team for now to have 4 strong AoEs, but other than Phantom Shadow, she doesn't get much from the 6* upgrade. Her base HP is pathetically low, and Blade and Body is a fucking wreck. She doesn't need a small boost to the 4 core stats, she just needs HP and attack.

4* Mercedes from daily. Capped 6* Lightning and Gilgamesh with maze. Gonna finish up Bartz and ExDeath. Firion is ready for 6*. I'm not very good about TMs.

CoD with dual-wield sunbeam just wrecks teams in Arena (along with Divider; neither is covered by cecil). I capped a 6* chizu just because she was my first waifu. That and I was hoping that her ignores-def aoe is good enough to replace lightning (because fuck lightning, I just don't like her). I don't want to pull all my good gear off of gilgamesh to gear her up, though. And I don't really have any good gear to give her as gilgamesh has it all.

I hope they put in a persistent unit that has +20%ATK or more. For my gilg to reach whale-levels, I'd need a couple Fencer or Karls... neither of which I have.
