Tips on beating the Dreadnought ELT?

I've looked at some of the other sites and they suggest an all Mage team. Not sure if mine's strong enough though.

I try rolling with:

Exdeath (370ish mag)
Dark Fina (480ish mag)
Arc (LOL 257 mag)
Cecil
Refia

Best attempt was using Ajax as a friend character. Thinking maybe Arc is the weak link and I should sub him out for someone else, but not sure who.

Who else do you have to swap in for Arc? Arianna should be better if she's leveled and you got her all her gear. She can Thundaga, or boost mag.

You could try using my Ling. I have her set up really defensively. She'll help with mp/raising incase of a bad sweep, and can AoE spirit debuff.

Also, bring smoke bombs to flee from random encounters, tent before the boss, and all the elixers/Phoenix downs/chocolate you can bring.

You should try doing it with Ling. As long as Cecil and Ling survive the Sweep AoE, it is impossible to get wiped even with two consecutive Sweep. Bring lots of MP recovery potions. Once you are done killing the bombs and the summons, it is over. You just need to nuke down the boss slowly.

so I started this back when it first came out. thinking about coming back, but wondering if the issues that caused me to drop it have been addressed. mainly:


- when I first started playing, it was massively grindy. more than normal. a good example would be the gravity rod. have they backed off a bit or is it still as grindy as ever?


- gacha rates. they were ridiculous. 1% chance for a 5* and even then it might be a 3* base. have 5* rates been upped? and have they fixed it so that pulling a 5* guarantees a 5* base?

The gacha change that guarentees a 5* pull is a 5* base is this week. If you're coming back, spend some time rerolling this weekend as they're also giving everyone a free 10+1 pull to celebrate 20 million downloads.

The order of events now seems to come in two phases, grind, and 1 and done. The grindy ones award currency that can be traded in for summon tickets, and exclusive gear. The 1 and dones tend to have harder fights.

Other than that, there's story mode, which is actually getting interesting, and trials which are the hardest fights imo.

It's still grindy if you want Trust Mastery rewards, but macros help a lot with that, and gumi has officially stated they don't care about macroing.

I cleared it first try but I kinda brute forced my way through it with couple ExDeaths, deadweight luneth and many turns later. I had Ling tho and she was definitely MVP for that fight.

I played the game heavily during pre release and a few months after release but dropped it. Picked it up again and have been playing since early Jan. I could use some help clearing some of the harder difficulty fights. Anybody here got room on their friends list for a scrub who is trying to make BE gains?

Ghaleon, list your friend code. Most of us clean our lists of dead weight occasionally and can add you. I just don't like to keep spots open long because it slows down TM farming.

A couple others here are around 900ATK on their friend unit, and I'll have Greg around that once I finish his shiny new TM.

Also, who else is planning to waste a bunch of lapis on a couple shines for that ATK+30%? And shera's not a bad runner up if you're currently full of +10% materia.
