So has anyone tried Greg trial yet? 40 energy per try is pretty rich but for that kickass Katana I can see why it costs so much.

I beat it with the 5 people only limitation for ATK+30. It's a battle of attrition more than anything, having two Noct and a Refia really helped, since they all have Full Life. Set up was

Noctis - HolyLance/Chiri - 600atk/380mag. My element coverage.
Seven - Focus/Elementalash/Cura/damage fodder.
Pcecil - 7,300HP/530def/200spi.
Refia - 4000HP/300def/430spi
Noctfriend- 728atk/no ele weapons/support + damage.

I can now get my Noct to 640atk/430mag with the Genji Blade lol. It's nice. Anyway it gets messy but I'd bring Chocolate Hearts, Elixirs, Turbo Ethers and maybe Phoenix downs as a last resort but.

Ignored Wind damage and it slowed the fight but was never an out of control problem, I tried with CoD since she has fucktons of Maneater, and is probably one of the best DPS for this but I only have one DW and it needed to be on Noct for the Ele coverage...'plus I only have one good weapon for her...

Strategy was what's generally seen online, survival > zergin... spent many turns raises and rebuffing and throwing out items. Some luck was definitely involved.

Decided to do two last ticket pulls on the Olive banner. Got another Shine and Refia. So I finally got my 6 star healer!

I just beat Gilgamesh with 6 man parties. I ran Cecil, Cecil, CoD, Refia, Noctis and Ajax's Noctis.

I ran CoD because I stacked Man-Eater but my CoD was like 100% useless. I think I can run Ling to replace him and the run would be 100% smoother. I totally didn't seal Water and I never felt it is too threaten. I will try to 5 man later on.

I decided to kill 3 tickets on Shine's banner before it goes away: Shantotto#14, Shera#10, and Shine#4. Whoop whoop~

I'm getting closer to beating Gilgamesh with 5-man, but I pushed the 50->30% too soon and dealt with 2 Freedoms

I beat Gilg 5 man first time (with LB and no items) with the setup I mentioned; I had to make Lightning use Thundaga though under 50% when Noctis wasn't using flask though thanks to that ninja change.

After pushing thresholds unprepared a few times, I killed him 5 man with limit break. I almost got the no item requirement too but I needed to hit Noctis with some mp from a chocolate.

Bartz - Gale Barrage, Excalibur, Golem Staff
Pecil - Dual Cast
Firion - Viking Axe, Chirijiradin
Refia - Dual Cast
Friend Noctis - Thunder Flask

The biggest thing I learned was that as long as magic break is up from thunder flask, you can safely push phases without fear. He never came close to killing anyone on my team with it up.

I repeated the fight with Ling for the mp restore and got the no item reward this morning.

any particularly easy-to-get weapons earlyish in the game? I just creamed White Dragon so I've got that, but I'm thinking there must be other blades out there that I can get at this point to beef up my team. Mostly looking at gearing Lightning/Greg but Chizuru would be nice too. and no I don't TMR farm yet.

There's a decent enough sword from the Type-0 King Mog exchange and the Blood Sword from the Advanced Colosseum. Other than that you can get the weapons from the various keys.

I may or may not get that mog weapon; so many awakening mats o.O but lightning is about to hit 100 so hopefully I can take on PRO now.


coliseum I'm still at beginning A-4 :/ but good to know that's coming. forgot about keys tho; I'll look into those thanks

Blood Sword requires some farming btw. You need to clear the whole Colosseum to get the recipe and then some stages 2-3 times for the mats. It doesn't take long anyway, just getting there.

Might be able to get Enhancer from Intangir trial also. He only has 230k HP so a strong companion should be more than enough.

My brothers mostly scrub team managed to get Enhancer and the Magic rod from trials basically with my Noct carrying him. And my Noct is not anywhere near as good as some peoples here.

yeah, 1160 Olive takes care of Intangir in one round. good advice! lightning is up to 404, not bad without TMR
