IIRC I got the tech one for Greg in the future because I believe when I was looking up which ones to use, tech are for weapon bonus ability type upgrades. For example, Greg's bonuses for equipping katana, sword and GS.

I have been very lazy with my egg farming, and I don't expect to do much more this week either. So that said, can somebody tl;dr which crysts they'd recommend? I expect to be able to buy ~3 of the crysts unless something drastic changes.

In addition to every 3/4*, I have TGC, greg, noctis, luneth, lightning, olive, DKCecil, and randi. I know TGC is basically future-proof as long as I can find another of himself to chain with. Greg gets his 3-hit taken to 12-hit, plus the new passives. It's also relevant that some of these are getting updates before the others? Also, it's probably worth investigating whether any non-5*-base is BETTER than the 5* with their respective enhancements (at least until the 5* get theirs).

Thoughts? I also haven't farmed/created ANY gear from the egg event; I haven't seen anything as necessary.

I have 2 genji gloves and 4 DW... with another 4 unused zidanes in inventory. While I guess it's conceivable that I could run across 2 accessories that offer better attack than one of the weapons, it's just not likely (or 4 materia, but less likely still).

I crafted everything. Think I'll end up getting that tech pure cryst, seeing as I've got all the other ability ones. Too bad the eggs only sell for 1 gil apiece. Would be another nice way to make some gil.

Think the vortex dungeon is going to be worth spamming or just wait for future events for crysts?

Why? O.o

The main skill you'll be using with him to deal damage does not rely on Attack at all. So he's the perfect candidate for the dagger because his ATK rating won't matter.

Found the list.

Of my characters, many of them have *good* enhancements (greg, randi, orlandu, WoL, etc). Ugh.
And now I really want a Dark Fina.

If we roughly follow the same order as JP (we already aren't, but maybe it gives a rough idea?), Refia and DKCecil would be next month, followed by Greg and Agrias in 2 months, etc. Randi, TGC, and the rest are all muchhh later (4 to 8 months).

After some digging around, the best upgrade in this batch appears to be mercedes? I've got a viking axe, and with her 6* form, fully potted, she's sitting at 180 base attack and her new axe mastery adds 100%. Then warcry adds a HUGE atk buff, and SKC gets a hefty water debuff (to go with her spiffy axe). But really, with all that, she's still likely not going to be as versatile as noctis, or hit as hard as orlandu or greg. She can't chain, and there wouldn't be anybody else with her in friend to chain with anyway. But when Tidus arrives......

Maybe I just farm all the things and just sit on them for a month?

Yay I finally finished my first TM after months, Excall! I also have a Blade Mastery, a sakurafubuki and 2 Black cowls almost done. I pulled a second snow today so I'll be making 2 Champion belts soon too!

So of the units I currently run, I've got Rain and Ariana at 6* with Refia, Firion, and Cecil just waiting for the mats I'll hopefully be able to get from King Mog now.

Besides them, I have Mercedes, Terra, Lasswell, Exdeath, Seven, Soleil, Chizuru, DKC, Minfilia, CoD, Xiao, and Santa Roselia capable of being 6*. Also WoL who I understand gets a 6* eventually. After I get my mains capped out who should I focus on?

I'd say CoD and Exdeath. Minfilia kinda sorta occupies the same slot I'd use CoD for (elemental resists), but she's also got some other situational perks. Terra might be worth it depending on what she gets with 6*.

I am going to miss this egg event when it's gone. I hope they do some more like this but not until I awaken all my soon to be 6 stars and replenish my awakening mats. I got a bunch of new characters capped out, all my espers capped, and some nice LB leveling done, most notably taking one of my P. Cecils I pulled to 25/25.
