Kefka hits like a truck. Lost his temper, at an hp threshold I assume he one shotted my cod and refia. Just need to watch what element he's weak too and hit him with that otherwise your dmg is gonna be bad. Gonna try it again later after work.

I beat Kefka, but it was a huge pain in the ass. I opted for 2x Setzer instead of elemental coverage and he consistantly mopped the floor with both Setzers.

I went 1/2 on Kefka, got everything except the LB kill(I forgot about it). If you've been playing a while, the Void Vessel attack item from many events ago is amazing. it does 118k damage to Kefka when he's weak to darkness. I really liked Lightning for the fight. I equipped her with Genji Blade + Twin Lance and she could target weaknesses probably 2/3 of the rounds, and the rest she meleed for summon orbs. Team was

Ling(Pretty useless tbh, maybe add another dps or even Y'shtola)

Once I got my summons done, it took one Light round and one Dark round to kill Kefka. Between Void Vessels and Divine Ruination, he just melted.

I just ran Mage heavy with Pcecil and Noctis... wasn't terribly difficult, though quite slow.

He seemed to have a cycle for the elements he did so I imagine if you found online his cycle you could probably bring Minfillia and just glue her to the proper element every turn and make it 800x easier.

I used the Reload function and it cleared things up.

I don't think this event is doable for me. I've tried a couple times now and I just have no survivability options. I just used my sacred crystals to awaken Chizuru, too, so trying to farm more + level either Minfilia or CoD to 80 + awaken again and get to 100 just doesn't seem feasible before the event is over, especially since I already bought and used all the metaltuars. My Cecil also has over 5k HP and still goes down instantly when he auto-attacks during his preemptive turn. Guess I am not ready.

I ran DC Refia and Y'sh for heals/Proga/Shellga. Pecil for LB but he felt like a wasted slot. My Noctis and a friend Noctis for cover and elements. CoD for Omni which was highly unnecessary. It was slow building Esper gauge. Once I did Carb/Diab, I just started tearing him apart. Got him to a sliver and did TWO ARMIGER LBs! One was full res and the other did 200 (I was non-ele and 25/25)... Luckily, I just defended until dark weak and then let CoD LB to finish. 1/1 attempts and 5/5 rewards. Slow but not scary.

Apparently, Celes can be used to sealing blade his self erase move that removes debuffs from him, and allows you to keep up power/magic breaks. Do you have her available, Zealot? If so, Undermind from Rain(30% debuff), or Ling's dances(40% debuff) would help a TON for surviving. 40% stat debuffs makes enemies hit for 25% damage.

Hell, I don't have Celes leveled but I'd be willing to use the event cactuars on her for you, so you could try it if you want.

Setzer (w/ fire and lightning swords, a 55,555 or 77,777 will one shot him with the proper elemental weakness)
Gilgamesh (worthless)
Ling (MP battery, backup Raise, and Entrust for Y'shtola/Cecil depending on the need)
Y'shtola (Heals and LB)
Cecil (LB, backup heals)
CoD friend (Omni Veil. Marie would be better)

If I had to do it again I'd drop Gilgamesh for a 2nd healer. Graviga fucked with me because unlike pretty much every other version of it in this game, Kefka's is non elemental so dark resist doesn't help. Y'shtola's LB does though.


Thinking about this setup for the robe achievement, but I don't think I'm going to bother with it

As long as I don't push thresholds and have Y'shtola's LB up for turn 8/16/etc I'm good. That said this would still be a headache and the robe just isn't worth it to me.

I managed to sloppily get through it using Pecil, Y'sh, Greg, CoD, Garnet for the Espers and a friend Noct. It's basically just trying to stay alive long enough to get the two summons in with Y'sh and Pecil cure bombing and CoD keeping the Bar-ele buff up. Once I got the summons in I waited for his next Dark weakness then used three Void Vessals, I would have gotten all three clears but he died faster then I could swipe for CoD's LB. In hind sight I should have used the VVs one at a time as I wasn't expecting them to take off half his HP in an instant.

I will agree that Gilgamesh is pretty useless in this fight, outside of being able to survive most attacks he didn't really do much outside of chipping down his HP. But he's good to throw Diabolos on as he'll at least survive long enough to use him, and he can jump past the Threshold attacks.

I think you have to return to the first NPC? Not sure, I haven't bothered doing much of the story yet. Edit: have you finished the story yet? Apparently that's another requirement.


Oh and there's a new set of FFX characters coming to JP> Yuna (5*>6*), Lulu (5*>6*), Seymour (4*>6*) as well as Wakka getting a 6* awakening. Pretty much every single character from X can reach 6* now :D
And the event has a Dual Wield materia for 12k currency lol

Picked up my 2nd purecryst this morning. Haven't used any lapis for refreshes. I get ~700 fish per run without bonus mobs. At this rate I can get one more and maybe the 30k Moogle.
