The starting point is pretty low, but if you play long enough you end up with 100+

This. As someone below said, focus on the story missions to rank up faster. At the least, setup an emulator to do a non-refill TM farm of Earth Shrine and come back in a month, you'll have ranked up into the 40-50s I'd imagine.

I really wanted Zyrus for the same reason, plus the TM. Figured a couple of 11 pulls would be fine, plus I wouldn't be upset getting Reberta. 44 pulls later I've got my single Zyrus. ._.;

Setzer #3 and nine this morning. Finished kain's tmr too. Also crafted the fang spear while I slept. Once I get enough mats for the gun I think I'll probably horde my raid coins. Just gotta grind out those points to get to those crysts.

Did the trial and forgot Pro/Shell are considered green magic, oh well. Ended up using CoD, Sakura, Terra, Y'shtola and Olive friend. Olive was doing 1.6M per True Shot with Heated Rounds, Napalm Grenade and Thunder's Light up.

Second Zyrus (finally!) from a ticket. I think I'm done with this banner now. I ended up with no other units from this one and last one (25 off-banner units last banner, and however many this time; didn't even get a kain or firion). I really want the dragoon with wyvern (DRG represent!) but apparently my luck isn't going to be with me. I'll do the freebies only.

THAT'S HUGE because you should be able to get her TM with raid for a 128 Spear with Dragon Killer (Which means you'd be able to 200% a normal unit and Firion 325%)! Congrats!

YAY! It's nice since that rod will increase magic damage against dragons (materia only do physical) which will be amazing for your TT. Hopefully, you can get a second for your other TT.

Wasn't able to log in yesterday so rip free summon, logged in today to a craptastic Fran + 2x Locke (yay go 20% toward Rising Sun).

Edit: Also how is everyone handling ELT for the raid? I'm running Cecil, Y'shtola, Ling, Olive (550 ATK), CoD (430 ATK), and whatever strong friend unit I can find, I can survive pretty well, but I still struggle to take him down unless the friend unit I use has 700 ATK+.

Just wondering if i'm the only one actually having some DPS problems with this fight. Could switch CoD with Gilgamesh (470 ATK), but I end up eating a ton of DMG that ends up killing me by not using Omniveil.

I complain about my shit luck with banner units but really, I got luck where it counts, in spades :\, so I really shouldn't complain... basically I grab any 600+ Attack Orland friend unit, and go in with this.

Ariana - Attack+60% Song
My Cid - 830 Attack, Dragon Killer
Friend Cid - 600+ attack whatever

Sing > Perfect chain both cids > 1 turn KO every time.

On my brothers game, however, he has much less luck with units... his only good Rainbow unit is White Knight Noel, everything else he has is pretty much garbage, his best DPS unit right now, physically, is Mercedes, so he's worse off than you by far. With him, I have to have a good carry friend but generally its a battle of "Is it dead in 5 turns? If not, I can't keep up heals we wipe". Most of the time with a friend unit of 500+ Attack power I can get his to below 30% before he runs or we wipe. his team is

Mercedes - 520attack/Second Knife
Rain - Support guy
Refia - 400+ Spirit, I kinda decked her out best i could.
W.K. Noel - 440 Magic, mostly just extra dps
Ariana - dualcast Thundaga
Friend - Carry plz

Without any Bar-spells I usually make it to turn 4 or 5 before everyone but Refia is dead. If he had any good Green mages it'd be easier but he doesn't. I found Olive only helps me carry if she's 800+ Attack since her damage is highly dependent on good chains and I can't really pull off good chains with my units for him. But for Olive I just Debuff Fire > Buff Fire > True Shot or Shattering Shot (Its 50% Def nerf, real powerful).

Olive has a lot of set up which is why it feels slower, but she's solid.

I run DW Cid with Odin and Dragon Killer (100% killer effect). He uses Divine Ruination and gets to chain 14 and Lightning/Luneth/Olive/Noctis just use Crushing Blow/Cut Through/True Shot/Warp Strike during the chain. Friend is either Cid that chains or someone who closes.

Baha is immune to -DEF on ELT and Trial. Firion is a huge help in this since his killers are 125% plus whatever else you can stack. Chiz is great to chain with. I'd argue that White Knight Noel is the best (and can solo the trial). If you can't do ELT, many of BG friend should be able to carry through PRO, which, if your are diligent about orbs, you can get all the rewards.
