I'm on the guy's friend's list that'll be doing the Titan raid on SE's stream. Should I change my name to something inappropriate or give a shout out to BG for luls?

I'm undecided. She's the best healer we have for a while, and her successors are both 5* bases, but is she so much better than DC Refia or Y'sh that it's worth spending all those resources on her? As a minnow, my lapis supply is very limited.

I'll probably do tickets (NOT the 4* tickets) and dailies, and then a 10+1 if I still don't have her by the end... maybe. Depends on the bundles we get for the anniversary I suppose.

She's definitely the best healer upgrade for awhile (unless GL gets some exclusive healer unit) but as many JP players told me: with WoL and Rikku, a lot of the healing you need gets scaled back quite a bit. You'll find yourself saying "I need a Ramza for this fight" more than "I need a Tilith for this fight". Take that as you will. If you're a minnow you'd probably be better off not going all in on Tilith. I'd 100% say go for the daily pulls (what with all the free daily pulls we will be getting, why the fuck not). Then think about it hard on the last day if you should blow all your tickets or not after you get to experience/see how people's pulls are.

BTW, the half energy campaign for the anni is a good time to go back and collect that lapis from story/etc. Take advantage of that temporary boon.
I haven't collected lapis from a lot of story/trials because I knew this would come around sooner or later. XD

Half energy would be a great time for exploration farming and gem farming as well

yeah, the more I think about it the more Tilith's "best healer" status is a bit of a red herring. it's true, but it doesn't tell the whole story, like you said Mina

not saying she's not all she's cracked up to be - she is all that and more! - but I do think she's slightly overvalued even so. she's not quite the game-changer that Rikku is.

I'm just finishing story today (hooray!), and I have most of the lapis from missions, so I think I'll use this event to farm explorations myself. next step is megacrysts and megacites.

I better not pull one of the shitty 5*s I already own on that free one lol.

Should include Tidus in that as well as I believe he will be a part of the pool (unfortunately for me)

    I'll scream (with joy):
Ramza - The one that I will say my account is broken or hacked. Or gumi is increasing the rates on my account to piss everyone off.
Gilgamesh - I have a bet with someone and I need gilgamesh to crush his soul
    Rem - w....waifu....

    New but with HYPE!:
Aileen - She'd be on the backburner but I'd be excited to just own her.

    It's... new...?:
    Luneth
    Marie
    Emperor
    Trance Terra
    Reberta
    Willhelm
    Fohlen
    Tidus

I already have one... ok I guess... tmr or something... mumble:
    Noctis
    Dark Fina
    Olive
    Orlandeau
    Delita
    Fryevia

Not pleased, Do Not Want, I already pulled you 2x or you have a shit TMR:
    Lightning
    Ace
    Queen
    Dark Knight Cecil

To summarize I have a 3/22 chance of pulling what I'd really want, 4/22 to be pretty unhappy, 12/22 to pull a new unit.

As a former bf player, am hype for the bf banner, but more hype for the ffx banner. Should i skip bf banner? I am still trying to make my units OP but it's very very slow. (Haven't done trials, Still TM farming my first units, need better gear and leveling up espers). I really wanted elza and tilith, but i really think i should wait now.

They are time limited units so if you really want them there's no other way (or guarantee that they'll be back in a banner).

Well I have about 20k Lapis, so I'm rdy for whatever happens regardless of free/cost/etc.; if it's all free I'd be happy with that since then I've got 20k lapis to blow on Tidus.

Pretty happy about tomorrow's mog king event, mainly because I won't have to pull for the banner thanks to last time. I'll have Elza up as my friend unit for the boost for you guys.

Also, the anniversary stuff is badass! Can't wait for all that sweet free stuff!

Lightning/Noctis/Fohlen for more max evasion unit sweetness. Gilg/Olive/Luneth for TM goodness. TGCid for CRAZY CHAINS! D. Fina for Retaliate X7 in arena. I'll like any 5*; dupe or otherwise.

This has been asked many times and I'm getting more and more educated on this matter at hand. So I'll lay down some knowledge bombs about the future of Tilith. I'll say right now Elza/Vargas is NOT worth pulling for unless you have some real nostalgia and you have money to blow. So the real question is: "Is Tilith worth blowing lapis/tickets on?" If you're a whale or a big dolphin, this doesn't apply.

Part 1: I'll hit it hard and heavy first:

Blowing tickets isn't likely to get you Tilith, those odds are highly stacked against you. If you want Tilith, you gotta pop that 4* ticket or the 10+1 pulls.

Part 2: Tilith is OPOP, but how much more OPOP is she compared to Refia: (let's go with Dualcast Refia since she's kind of most people's standard of "best healer")

    [Tilith] vs. [Refia]
[LB: ST heal + 100% LB fill rate + some status curing] vs. [LB: Aoe cure all status + AoE 3 turn 64% DEF]
Outcome: If you have status effects hitting your units, Refia is better. Tilith has a potent ST solution which works quite well with tanks.
My opinion: I prefer Tilith for this. I'd hand her the victory in terms of LB.

[180% AoE 1 Hit Magic Attack] vs. [nothing, attack wise innately anyways]
Outcome: Tilith provides more offense than Refia without a doubt. Easy victor here.

[3 AoE Turn +100% Stat Debuff Resist] vs [nothing]
[AoE 3 Turn + 40% Fire/Ice/Thunder/Water/Wind/Earth/Light Resist] vs [nothing, well Carbuncle gives Refia some elemental spell resist but nowhere near the coverage Tilith has on her]
[Decrease Target Chance 75%] vs [nothing]
[10% MP recovery] vs [nothing *Refia does get enhancements later for 5% MP recovery but let's put that aside]
Outcome: Tilith wins in any category that Refia has nothing to counter.

[Curaja ability & AoE Esunaga ability] vs [Dual Cast + Curaja + Esuna/Stona]
Outcome: When it comes to AoE healing and hitting party members with the status removal, Tilith comes out on top. Refia's bonus is that she comes innately with Stona however you can equip anti-petrify stuff on your units. I'd still hand this to Tilith for the win though.

    [AoE 2 Turn +40% ATK/DEF/MAG/SPR] vs [AoE 5 Turn 45% ATK/DEF]
Outcome: This one is tricky. On one hand you hit a lot of coverage with Tilith but on the other hand, Refia has a longer amount of time to do other things outside of buffing the party and it's slightly stronger for a more ATK focused team. I'd say this is a tie and boils down to what units do you own?
My take: I prefer Refia on this one but I have a pretty strong attack focused team. I think 2 turns is too short especially since this is your healer we're talking about but I could see someone making the argument that Tilith is better.

[AoE -self 2500 HP 50 MP recover] vs [nothing]
Outcome: Tilith makes an excellent battery. There's no contest on that.

[AoE 100% HP Recovery] vs [Curaja x2]
Outcome: Maybe my Refia is just buff as all hell but she's always cured my party to full, even with units stacked on HP. Tie.

    [AoE Dispel] vs [Dualcast Dispel]
Outcome: I don't think we've had very many fights where there are multiple targets we have to dispel. Tie.
My Take: I prefer Refia on this because I rarely need to Dispel more than 1 target. She can do other things in that turn.

    [AoE Arise] vs [Dualcast Arise]
Outcome: This is tricky, tricky, tricky. You need 3 units to die before Tilith outweighs Refia. I don't know about you but I typically only lose 1 or 2 units. Even if I lose 2 units, I tend to only raise 1 and then Curaja to keep the rest of the party alive. I can see the argument for either unit. Tie.

Just throwing this here at the end but obviously you would negate the bonus of Refia's innate resistances with a Ribbon or the TMR that Tilith comes with. Since Tilith comes out of the box with her TMR attached, I don't feel it's even necessary to compare this point. Points to Refia for innate but even innate Refia needs resistances to other statuses.

    tldr; this part 2
Tilith either ties or outshines Refia in almost every situation. The times when Tilith wouldn't be as good are situational or work around. Clearly the better healer by quite a margin

Part 3: But... how necessary is Tilith?
That depends on your units and future units you want.
Let's consider someone who has Warrior of Light already and someone who plans on getting Rikku (which is a lot easier to see pulling than Tilith).

Warrior of Light brings to the table a 3 Turn 50% AoE Defend (+50% phys/mag reduction while taking their dmg) which will later get enhancements to go up to fucking 75% chance to defend with 50% phys 70% mag reduction... ffffffff.... But for right now 50% is still pretty baller.
He's also bringing to the table the straight up 45% AoE breaks so in general we should be seeing less damage come out.
He also brings a self counter heal. 30% will counter magic with a self recover of 25% HP/MP. Warrior of Light dares you to kick him with magic, get da fuck outta here with that.

Rikku brings along a straight up HP recovery with some status removal (AoE). She also is a MP battery and she brings the AoE Revive that Tilith had over Refia. She -also- brings along the AoE 3-turn 40% all elements resist with an AoE 3-turn 30% damage reduction on her synth ability. Bitch don't pretend she's not fabulous in this house. Of course we all know that her own LB is the super DEF/SPR boost with that auto-revive making healing much less of a big deal. Much, much, much later when she gets enhancements she will straight up get ST 100% HP recovery added to her battery skill.

What does this mean for Tilith? Well... if you have an OPOP tank tanking a lot of the damage... and if you plan on having an OPOP unit that straight up says "I don't give a fuck if we die, fucking take me down I dare u, u won't" Tilith looks a lot less appealing. Is she OPOP? Yeah. But is she necessary? Not even slightly... she's overkill. In the same way that WoL and Rikku are overkill. Except WoL has been around for awhile and most people have him. Rikku will be on a non-shitty 3-gold banner.

So decide for yourself based on that knowledge.
Edit: I want to be clear that I say this. I think Tilith is super amazing. She's definitely OP. She'll totally be the best healer for awhile (unless global exclusive healer). But I don't know and I wouldn't strongly encourage someone to go all in on the banner she arrives on. If you pull her, great, that's awesome. Without a doubt you'll use her or get some use out of her. But I think players who have WoL + Rikku + Refia won't say that their experience is bad.

I believe it's better to use tickets fishing for the 4* first rather than lapis. Remember lapis 10+1s (and 4* tickets) are inherently more valuable when chasing a 5* base as they give you a much bigger chance at that so use up dem summon tickets first. The breakdown is something like 9 rare summon tickets are equivalent to the chance of a 5* from the bonus crystal of a 10+1/the 4* ticket.

Gold rate in general is 19% with less than 5% of the odds being for on-banner golds, this goes for regular pulls and tickets.
Gold rate for an on-banner with an 10+1 pull is over 65% or something. Your odds are huge there. 5% vs 65%. Edit: 4.7% vs 67.7%

    Tilith odds:
    10+1 pull/4* ticket: 28.2%
regular pull/dailies/3* tickets: 1.5% (note it takes around 20 tickets to reach the same amount as that 4* ticket/10+1 pull)

1.5% and 28.2% are super different.

You're right in that it's better to use 10+1 while chasing a rainbow and while most banners with only 1 gold you can try your luck because 5% while terrible is not as impossible over the course of 7 days (30% odds). But we're talking about a banner with 3 golds. Not normal circumstances.

@theshun math adds up to roughly what I had calculated. 46 tickets would get you at a 50% chance.

It's totally up to a person on whether they pull or not but I will play devil's advocate on why it's not a good idea, especially since Rikku's banner is literally right around the corner.
