With nothing going on in-game atm until Friday, and Ramuh already at 33. I think I have a pretty realistic chance of getting him to 40 within the next 2-3 days. I'm trying to think who do to next after him, options are Shiva, Golem, and Siren.
Thinking about Shiva, but not 100% sure, does Golem have anything good on his lists?
I'll be going for Golem 2* next after ramuh. Offers good tanky skills for when they are eventually needed.
I had just made this little chart for myself yesterday for planning out espers:
The formatting is a little weird as I never really intended to share it. Shaded blocks aren't released yet. The bold outlines are rough tiers (i.e. on MP the top four are all somewhat close; in attack Odin would be a tier above Titan and Ifrit, which are fairly similar.
So assuming you are after stats (and not specific skills)...
What I learned is that Ramuh and Golem are worth investing in. I'm not going to mess with Shiva too much and will wait on Carbuncle. Ifrit will stay relevant as a 2nd attack esper, even if it's a bit behind the others.
Looking at that chart, I think I might do Shiva next after all. My mage team is pulling together a lot faster than my melee team. And she has 2nd highest magic.
Looks like the boss in the upcoming event not only is pretty tough but also resists almost every single element. Why do they keep screwing with mages when that's all I managed to pull? D:
this game definitely wants you to build multiple teams - one phys and one magic, at minimum. which in turn means you need to pull more, and I'm sure Gumi is hoping you IAP to do that.
IDK if Brave Frontier was ever this way? or if that's just FFBE.
Debating if I should 1) grind 2x Shantotto TM to 50% for one materia; 2) grind 1x Shantotto and 1x Cecil (I do not have Garland for Equip L Sword); or 3) grind 2x Shantotto for 2x materia. Thoughts?
Excalibur will remain tied for being the strongest weapon in the game for a good 6 months and +30% Magic is the best materia based flat Magic boost available other than a 5* units combined 50%, but it only works for rods + clothes. Depends largely on your team setup, both are sizable boosts. If you have a Bartz or Firion, Excalibur would serve you well without needing to worry about Garland's TM. I wouldn't merge the Shantottos regardless of which you focus on though.
I now have a second Kefka, second Chizuru, and a second vaan. Which do I keep, which to level, which to tm grind, etc? Opinions?
Keep all three. Leveling a second Kefka for a mage party is fine but I wouldn't level the other two. A second Chizuru wouldn't have a solid weapon unless you had Mizuki's TM. Vaan is brought mainly for buffing and Full Break so a second wouldn't help much there. All three have solid TMs that you can work on long term but nothing you should hop on immediately. With Vaan not having his 6* yet he's sort of a wild card. It'd suck to fuse him then find out they made his 6* a DPS monster or something.
wtb Mal's Excalibur. ;_;
I do not have enough friends to grind Earth Shrine nonstop. Interesting.
Almost three. ; ; I don't know if those are great pulls or terrible. I sure would like a lot of different units other than three Cecils, then again that might be pretty nice once the Maxwell trial comes out.
Jamison, did you link your account to a junk FB account, or your real one? If a junk one, you can join a FB group devoted to adding as many people as possible (almost 8000 members), which'll add all of them as usable friends in game, plus you send and receive all gifts to them too, greatly helping progress towards those trophies. There was a lot of bugs with it before, but it's mostly been smoothed out now. You also get bonus Lapis rewards for having FB friends, think like 1000 total? I claimed mine a long time ago before the bugs hit, and now it won't load for me anymore to see what the rewards were. Even if you used your real FB, as long as you manage things, it's not too bad.
Alternatively, you could use Lapis to boost your friend limit to 130 total. I've seen it said that friend fatigue is anywhere from 2 to 6 hours. Even on the high end, if you were grinding with energy renewal rate (12 per hour) you'd be fine, but if you wanted to spam nonstop with Lapis refreshes and all, you'd end up running out without FB friends.
I was more amused than anything. It is my main FB account, but usually I only have to wait about 45 minutes before folks cycle back in so it isn't that big a deal.
Mal, did you get 3 cecil's then fuse them? Or did you grind to 100% from 0? I am currently watching 4 shantotto's kill earth shrine over and over... I'm hoping to get to ~21% within a week or so. Getting to 100 would just be fucking painful.
They were staggered pulls, had my first at 80%ish when I got the other two. I'm leveling them all up separately since it's worth it in the long run. Takes a good 3-4 weeks RNG willing. I'd prolly be in a bit more of a rush if there weren't other games I'm playing now. Playing since soft launch is sorta cheating too, I've long been done with nearly everything and the only things left to grind are either TMs, summons for trophy, hero ring mats, or magicites. Hero ring mats will come with time as more areas are released, and once events start rolling out magicites won't be much of an issue. Plus once good events start hitting, mindlessly blowing weeks of energy on TM grinding won't be as appealing, so good to knock out what I can.
21% should be plenty doable within a week or less. RNG can be a bitch though, I've seen units that started at the same time and had a difference of 5% within a few days.
TM grinding is pretty much repeat 1 NRG dungeons all day errday?
OK I feel really stupid now. I never realized my leader via the companion party had the wrong esper. Someone should have told me that!
