All I remember from Lost Odyssey was feeling like the immortality angle was abandoned after the first disc for a more generic story, and the battle-system getting super repetitive even by JRPG standards.

Eidos Montreal and Square Enix Montreal (NA Mobile Studio) are Hiring

Square Enix is working on expanding Eidos Montreal’s workspace by 10,000 square feet throughout 2019. Some of the things they plan on adding in this expansion are a motion capture studio, photogrammetry studio, user research lab, and a studio for voice recording and sound mixing. These should all help Eidos Montreal’s future development efforts.

Meanwhile, Square Enix voiced its intention to continue investing into Square Enix Montreal. While the mobile studio hasn’t put out a new title since 2016’s Deus Ex Go due to the poor performance of premium mobile titles, job listings suggest the team is still working on brand new mobile games.

I mean, the explosion following the death of Altima was quite massive. It looked like a nuke going off. Moreover, the only portal to Murond was destroyed as soon as the party entered from Orbonne, trapping Ramza's party inside permanently. From that, we are to assume (given no other clues or hints) that they were spirits, especially because they didn't speak dialogue during the ending.

However, it's plausible that at this point, Ramza and friends have collected all 12 of the Zodiac Stones and thus perhaps a miracle was performed, allowing them to survive and maybe open a portal back to Ivalice. We know the stones can perform acts of benevolence as was the case of Malak being revived from death.
