Also not sure how keen MS would be to acquire another expensive fucking company with a bunch of preexisting Sony exclusive contracts to fill (see Deathloop etc.) I don't know how ironclad the contracts are, but it would be kinda shitty to buy SE but still have to put out Forspoken and XVI on PS5 for multiple years of exclusivity.

Yeah, highly doubt Microsoft would. Sony would make the most sense tbh since they already shell out a lot of money for PS exclusive titles. Securing Square Enix as exclusive titles for the future would be a big move for them. But yeah, don't think it's going to happen.

Why do most (or all) of those bullet points scream "Final Fantasy Warriors" to me?

Could easily be in an "Dissidia" world to hit the established lore tic while still having a Dynasty Warriors theme across many titles.

Using Ivalice as a setting wouldnt really fly for anything other than a Tactics or traditional title, unless somehow Type Next is in Ivalice instead of Orience. Yoshi P would be the only one I would trust with an Ivalice outside of Matsuno.

Apparently SE's entire E3 announcement slate has leaked online, but very few are sharing the whole thing and being very careful to confirm only bits and pieces. It included official marketing materials, trailer footage, and accompanying promotional material.

The FF Title developed by Team Ninja is apparently drawing the closest relations to Nioh, and will take place in FF1's "universe". Has been confirmed as real by many notable sources now, including Imran Kahn.

The other big bit of info from this leak that anyone is talking about is that SE is gearing up to take Final Fantasy's 35th anniversary very seriously.

After 11 months of nothing, this article from Nov 2020 made a big deal out of remembering his Jan 2020 statement that it may be formally announced at some kind of 35th anniversary extravaganza. That's tomorrow stream.
