Anyone up for more Teedus & Yoona?
There's a rough outline of what Final Fantasy 10-3 could look like and apparently, the chances of it getting made are "not zero."
The comments were made by character designer Tetsuya Nomura, writer Kazushige Nojima and Final Fantasy 10 director Motomu Toriyama, and spotted by the ever-vigilant Nibel on Twitter. Nomura told Famitsu in a column earlier this month that Nojima has written a synopsis for the sequel, and that while the game isn't in any form of development, "there is a concept" there.
Toriyama then said that the possibility of a Final Fantasy 10-3 being made was "not zero," but said that the team's focus is currently on getting through the Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Nojima also chimed in, talking about how he's seen a shift in people's first Final Fantasy game, with more people now citing Final Fantasy 10 as their first experience with the series.
Nomura also says that the audio drama and Japan-only novel were actually written based on his rough outline for Final Fantasy 10-3.
Didn't the 10-3 novel have them break up and then Yuna fucks Brother or something? It was super fucking weird
Yes, and then they fucking died. It was a stupid radio drama and yeah it was absolutely atrocious. They better throw that fucking script into the fucking incinerator before they make any kind of official X-3.
You've got two people that went through fucking hell and back for one another, and yeah, they just fucking break up over "communication issues" in a fucking radio drama? Nah, that's some horse shit. Take your "I can't open up to them" JP trope nonsense the fuck out of here.
Yeah that ain't coming to 10-3.
I also don't really see 10-3 happening
The sad part of all this is that this 100% tracks for something Nomura would come up with.Nomura also says that the audio drama and Japan-only novel were actually written based on his rough outline for Final Fantasy 10-3.
Oh absolutely. Throwing away years of established struggles and character growth for "drama". That sounds perfect for Nomura.
Yep. Tidus and Yuna are absolutely going to let the pettiest of fucking miscommunications split them up after literally fucking saving the world to be with one another.
I suppose Cecil and Rosa are ready for divorce court over the bathroom door being left open after someone takes a shit after Cecil saved her from a goddamn guillotine, saved her life from a debilitating fever and she walked lock-step with him into the fucking moon to defeat the embodiment of evil itself.
Yep.
I just redid 10 and doing X-2 again now.
Said this a million times but 10-2 has the best party system of any ff game. The story as we all know is super weak but the mini games et. al. are top tier.
If they do make a 10-3 I hope they keep it with a similar system instead of Jumpsaholic Magee we got going on in other ffs.
No relationship is ironclad and those formed during times of high stress are more prone to failure. That said, I have no doubt whatever drama is created between Yuna and Tidus is hella juvenile.
Agreed; I really enjoyed the combat system of 10-2.
New FF spin off: Final Fantasy couple's counseling/divorce court. No relationship is ironclad and those formed during times of high stress are more prone to failure. That said, I have no doubt whatever drama is created between Yuna and Tidus is hella juvenile.
Can you mediate the conflict between these lovers? Failing to do so not only spells death for their relationship, but for them in the most literal sense.
Wakka x Lulu still gets the side eye from me.
Been a minute since I played X - Wasn't their whole thing that Lulu loved Wakka's brother, Sin ate him or wtfever, so Lulu looked at Wakka and was like "Eh, close enough"?
Anyway, on topic: Dumpster fire script aside, I think it's nearly 20 years too late for an X-3 at this point.
That's literally how it went. I think the player was supposed to come away that Lulu realized Waka has his own strengths, especially after his personal growth regarding his own stubbornness, and that made him more attractive to her, but in typical JP fashion, they went so subversive about it that you had to read between the lines to come to that conclusion.
I was only surprised that they ended up together until I realized that it would either have to be him or some random, nameless NPC considering she had little interaction with anyone outside of the main party. So yeah, he was basically just the best person left in the room.
Good for you, Waka. You got them tiddies.
Pretty much all of the above, but it also felt like a way to keep them out of the X-2 adventure because "lol we have a kid now"
Wait do you guys mean Nojima? I don’t think X is Nomura’s baby like VII is.
Regardless, X-2 had easily the best gameplay out of the entire series so I’d be down for more of that.
However, I think we need way more mainline games before we talk about another sequel, especially with BD1 working on VIIR for the foreseeable future. (They restructured recently, I dont think its called BD1 anymore, but whatever there are only a limited number of AAA teams Square could have working on games at the same time)
I agree but its a story with a great ending, they don't need to half-ass explore that when they dont have time to form a decent conclusion. Even if Nojima is saying "Nah, these characters aren't right for eachother" There's no way to make that satisfying, especially with the romance angle being a big motivator of the 2nd game
