Latest leaks say it's a remake but not with modern hi-end graphics like 7 but a new art style instead, quoting: "SE expects mixed reactions to art style, comparable to Link's Awakening in style" (which also makes me think of World of Final Fantasy style)

I'd definitely be cool with merging subs between 11 and 14, would be nice hopping back into 11 maybe during 14 downtime.

War of the Lions is most likely the FFT remaster of the PSP version, since that was the subtitle it had, since that and "FF9 remake" were both in that nvidia leak.

I think the FF11 beginnings thing is just a rework of the beginning of the game to make it more friendly to new players? Even though playonline is still a huge mess and I wish that could just be deleted.

Not sure this whole thing is true, but some stuff on there I think was in leaks or talked about in interviews, so it might not be too farfetched. I would definitely like another world of final fantasy, but have no idea how a 10-3 would work or how it would be received this far from the release of the first two.

9 doesn't really need to be remade, imo. Game aged fine and it's readily available. If Sakaguchi isn't directing it, then I definitely don't want it. 11/14 joint sub would be nice. I haven't really played since 2017 as I don't really like the state of the game's content currently, but I'd dabble again if I didn't have to double dip on sub price. 10-3 I 100% do not want, especially after -Will-.

I agree it's something that should've happened long ago. Otherwise, I'd say the allure is giving people something different to poke at when they're bored of one. Yes, some XIVers may try XI and immediately think it's trash due to dated mechanics. I honestly don't expect many XI holdouts to try XIV and suddenly like if they haven't already. Nonetheless, I'd say XI would benefit most from the exchange between bolstering server populations, and if received well, coaxing SE into more meaty updates. Should it turn into an eventual decoupling from POL, even better, imo.
