idk about that! I dont think SE is super why about doing collabs. it seems inevitable at this point.

Finally, rumors swirling today around one of the 2021 Nvidia leak's most desired from SE that we've so far heard absolutely nothing about: the Final Fantasy IX Remake.

Apparently...

• It is real.
• It is at least 2 years away (so coming in FY 2025-2026).
• It will be too advanced to run on current Switch hardware, so might be a Sony exclusive (or, by then, perhaps portable to Nintendo's next hardware).

SE's final unaddressed Nvidia leak title would be the FFT Remaster for PC. Still no news there.

Really surprised they went with IX instead of VIII, im glad they did because IX probably needs it more than VIII.

I don't know how IX's artstyle lends itself to needing such high-fidelity graphics that it can't run on the same hardware that Prime Remastered runs on. Crisis Core Reunion is on Switch too. I can't buy that a IX remake is "too powerful".

Id bet more that Sony paid for exclusivity than it can't run on the Switch. But if it's 2 years out then they'll almost assuredly be a new Switch iteration at that point, so its moot.

I just meant the game's art style lends itself to a remake more in like with the Memoria Project than the graphics of FF7 remake.

Memoria Project is a fan-based proof-of-concept homage created in UE5 by some 50 game devs in their spare time over the last 3 years. We'd seen little clips of Vivi animatics and Alexandria artwork until now, but this gameplay demo shows where all that work went. This little demo is dripping in nostalgia, and really shows their love of the source material. Hopefully whatever SE is working on is an even more realized version of what we see here. Let's hope they retain the Itahana designs and don't try to shoehorn tired, pointy Nomura nonsense into it.

Not convinced they will do a 7 Rebirth preview 2 weeks before 16 release. But who knows.

I've been expecting them to stay completely silent about 7R until 16 release, but they have been doing some marketing on social media recently, so who knows
