1. If S-E makes the grind/monetization hell. (Chocobo GP)
2. They don't balance the game.

If they avoid those pitfalls, it'll be fine. But there's no guarantee.

Aside from the obvious inspiration, I don't see why people are hating on it. I love the gameplay of splatoons, I just never play it cause I hate my switch. Give this gameplay to me on another system and lets see how it goes imo. Turn up the particle effects while you're at it lol

Splatoon on good hardware without the peer to peer servers is something I've always wanted.

What I think will kill it is the advertising. You need players and those players need to be excited. I haven't heard shit since the announcement and no one I know is talking about it. My concern is it stays that way.

I'd like to entertain the idea of Vanillaware quality pixel art in the CT coat of paint. I wouldn't even be against voice work or modernization of the OST as long as toggle for the OG exists.

Mechanically, the game did have a few rough spots, but it was still pretty fucking amazing for its time. I'd never pass up the potential for additional content even if unlikely.

Considering the art style, they could easily remake it in 3D. There's already a bunch of Dragonquest games that they can pull experience from.

Oh, I agree. To clarify, I think the game in 2D-HD could look great, I would just hope they don't change anything else too much, ie. a remaster rather than a remake

Oh yeah, that makes sense. I doubt theres a full remake planned if the rumor is even true.
