Remakes bring older games to a new audience who would otherwise not ever give them a chance.

And also the HD-2D stuff looks really cool and a game like this would definitely benefit from that treatment.

Last year at my school a kid made a model of cloud’s sword in art class.

Before that if I ever brought up the ff series I was met with blank faces.

No one under 30 knows what Chrono Trigger is, and are not going to bother with it unless it’s remade, and personally I think it’s really cool to get newer generations into trying out these awesome games.
