The real copium now is that the crossover ends the day before FF9's original release date and they claim a big FF9 announcement at the end of the event.

Random Square Enix question. Yoshi P’s team is CBU3, they handle FFXI, FFXIV, Dragon Quest Online, and they were the team that made FFXVI and the FFT Remaster. Presumably there is also a CBU1 and CBU2 but what exactly do they do? I haven’t heard anything about them or their projects. I assume one of them is working on the FF7 Remake trilogy but I don’t recall any of their branding with Remake or Rebirth.
As AE collabs go, they'll technically never go away. The downside is you're still playing AE and it has not aged well and power crept in ways that have made some characters useless without 120+ light/shadow and overhauls through manifest weapons or new forms.
Frankly, it's my poster child game for how gacha ruins RPGs.
Oh ya I have 0 interest in playing AE lol. I meant more about FF9 announcement lol

Apparently that weird French FF9 sequel cartoon for children that we first heard about in 2021, then quietly died, is back in production at a new studio -- aiming for 2028 release.
And these characters from the show bible that leaked a couple years ago that we all sorta hoped weren't real were actually real.According to the listing the series is planned as a 2D animated show, consisting of around 13 episodes of 22 minutes each, aimed at ages 6-13.
It is currently listed as in development, with release planned for 2028. The project is directed and written by Charles Lefebvre, with Sylvain Dos Santos serving as art director, and is being co-produced by La Chouette Compagnie.
Spoiler: show
So yeah. That tragic, war-torn fantasy we all fell in love with about the cycle of death, puppets of genocide, planet fusion, lost memories, etc. -- now it's this thing about Vivi's cooky kids and NotHippaul being brave enough to walk from Alexandria to Lindblum to find medicine or something. Please enjoy it.Final Fantasy IX: Black Mages Legacy
MEL, KOLN, LUCIOLA, THEA, FALA AND DOC ARE THE LAST BLACK MAGES OF THE FOUR CONTINENTS.
They are the children of the great hero VIVI, who once defeated the forces of evil alongside ZIDANE and Queen GARNET.
Today, the siblings live happily in the city of ALEXANDRIA, watched over by its friendly and sometimes curious inhabitants. But, unfortunately, their peaceful existence will come to an abrupt end, when KOLN finds MEL frozen like a statue inside the inn where he works.
Who on earth would want to hurt Mel? Everybody loved him... Could it be their father’s tragic legacy resurfacing? Who cares?! We have to save MEL!
Our heroes must leave immediately in search of a cure for their brother. Which means they’ll have to quit the cozy cocoon of Alexandria for the first time in their lives and discover the vast world around them.
Anything but the remake
...Wow.

A little slip under the radar from last week, FF 3 & 4 (3D Remake), 8 (Remastered), & 9 have been added to GOG as DRM-free versions. Each title is 60% off until the end of the day today.
So salty this is a phone game
Tried it out on mobile just to see...I refuse to keep going with these trash controls.

I heard it supports a controller so I guess the best way to play it would be on PC emu+controller if you really want to
Nah the actual gameplay has been butchered to be mobile touchscreen friendly and stuff too. It sucks
The beta for that was really fun but I don't trust gacha elements not to ruin it.
