Would have also taken 3+ years off development. And tbh, I didn't like the changes to the combat system in Rebirth. The battles are fine, but the unlock system was silly imo. Like a sphere grid, but worse.

Played it through emulation, which is how I figure a lot of people have played it since it was never released in NA and rights issues with Quintet (the developer) makes re-releasing or remaking their games complicated.

But they pulled it off with Actraiser a few years ago so it's possible

I'll probably get it just for the clearer high-def font - screen-reading apps have problems reading Japanese text in old-school SNES resolution, so the new version would be much easier to play in Japanese with translation tools to assist. otherwise it's like... I'm glad the game is getting recognition, but who hasn't played this via emulation already? still, anytime the Quintet trilogy gets modern recognition I'm gonna be happy

I have never played Terranigma.

I've also only ever beaten Illusion of Gaia on a saved game that was already on the cartridge I was renting.
