I got tickets for the 20th at 7:30pm. Afterwards I noticed there were tickets for the 19th not just the midnight showing or something but all day! Did I miss something? I didn't know they were releasing it a day early.
Big releases like Star Wars, Marvel films, etc they alwayys have Thursday evening/night showings
I took a second look and your right. No showing starts before 6pm. I just kinda freaked out cause I never have seen a theater around here do anything but midnight showings before.
It has been completely normal, for years, for "release day" to be 6PM the day before the date listed....
yeah lol, at least like a decade or more. welcome to 10-15 years ago (or more)!
I sat in near empty theatres on opening night for Force Awakens and Rogue One. Would have done so for TLJ as well but my theatre had a royal fuck up and the digital film was corrupted on like 10/15 screens they had that night and my show got canceled. I should have taken that as a sign.
Force Awakens was the busiest I can remember theaters being since maybe Phantom Menace or Matrix 2. I don’t think any movie will ever touch Phantom Menace in that regard.
Yeah Phantom Menace release was absolutely wild, if only we knew how fucking awful it was gonna be.
It was all over the moment trade negotiations popped up in the opening crawl. All the air let out of the room at once.
I enjoyed it, but they really should have kept Maul through the trilogy.
Maul, and qui gone were the best parts. Even young obi wan was cringe though ewan made it work later in the trilogy

Iger on the future of Star Wars; "Less is More"
I have said publicly that I think we made and released too many films over a short period of time. I have not said that they were disappointing in any way. I’ve not said that I’m disappointed in their performance. I just think that there’s something so special about a Star Wars film, and less is more.
Fuck that, give me a movie per year. Just hire competent writers.
Marvel movies have proven that quantity is not a problem when quality is done well.
I realllly don't want them using that as a cop out - "oh it didn't do well because of oversaturation!" Are all of those side movies still doing well? I do think there is an eventual oversaturation point with Black Widow 2 and shit like that. Even the biggest sheep marvel fanboys have to have a breaking point.
