It's like we watched different movies.

It's because of TLJ that Kylo would have worked perfectly. Snoke being a red herring set it up perfectly. But no, people had to bitch that they didn't get answers and Disney had to run back to Abrams to go take the safe and easy route again.

Did they end up renewing KK’s contract?

I think their new strategy of going with single movies (like Marvel) is a good call

The concept of Palpatine truly being exposed or highlighted in the third act isn’t foreign to the pacing of the previous three trilogies. I doubt audiences had any inkling that there was a mastermind when walking out of the original movie. They had a taste for it in empire strikes back and then a grand reveal in the final movie in one of the first scenes (he arrives on the new Death Star). This movies pacing isn’t that far off of return of the Jedi which was to be expected given the parallels in JJs previous work.

Idk. I think the suggestions that were pointed out prior would’ve been excellent in transitioning from TJL to ROS which included Rey’s force lightning and all that. That would’ve made TLJ make more sense overall looking back at it as a part of the story.

    What?

Clone wars actually progressed the main story by a lot. It added an origin for the creation of the original storm trooper army. It also provided an inkling that there was someone behind everything pulling the strings (which is what the second act usually does in these movies).

You know its a bad movie when you guys cant even say the name right. It's Attack of the Clones.

And it's one of the worst movies ever made and never speak to me about it again.

Bruh you guys didnt even watch TLJ. The entire movie was setup to make Kylo the bad guy, torn by the generational evil of the dark side, destroying it, and becoming the new baddie that has ascended above the sith.

Rey was setup to be the nobody who can rise up even against the ultimate evil, a dark Skywalker. She just had to believe in her friends and the force. They set up all this shit and literally spent half this movie trying to undo it lol.

Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker (December 20, 2019)

Say what you want about the prequels but they at least had a cohesive vision for the story and lore. Even if it was poorly executed. In that regard the sequel trilogy fails spectacularly. It’s downright embarrassing and they should make KK go kick rocks.

This is it. Hate them or love them, each movie is just so different in the story its telling that, as a trilogy, it sucks. They just threw shit at the wall every movie to see what stuck, and now they get to expand on the good stuff in Disney+. Terribly disappointed.

It’s interesting to see how most people on the internet point to the lack of a vision for this trilogy at the start is what killed it. While most critic reviews for each movie say it’s the fans that are the problem.

Critics are too busy smelling their own farts to pay attention to any movie they’re watching.

Highly doubt this even happens. It would be further brand suicide. Rumors are that Kennedy is out and and Filoni/Favreau will be taking over full responsibility of the story direction and hiring. Feige is going to be heavily involved too. The other strong rumor is the next set of movies have been decided on and the director will be announced in January. The only confirmation so far is that it is NOT Rian Johnson, but this will be a Kennedy hire based on timeline. Release date is December 2022.

I don’t know what it is about modern critics, but why is it that all reviews are insane, poetic, Shakespearean pieces? Why can’t they just say “I did not like this movie for xx reasons.” Instead we get these bat shit Twitter metaphors that require a cipher to read them...

They are written by people that spent their schooling years and money investing in a dead-end career that make next-to-nothing. They are trying hard because they have to. From a basic movie making standpoint, TROS would have received an F in Movie Making 101 for its' first 30 minutes alone. JJ knows this better than anyone, but he didn't really have much of a choice so it is forgivable in this case.

I don't mind them, but it is what it is. Definitely not whining about them lol. It is always best to ignore them and go with your own thoughts or general fan response at most.

Bro. I was talking about THIS trilogy made full by Rian Johnson so it'd actually be good as a whole trilogy.

Not the future trilogy that may or may not happen.
