Just saw the movie.

As a whole I really enjoyed it. The plot was intense and you could feel the desperation and the stakes of failing their mission. So in that regard I really liked it. I mean, we all know how it ends and I'm actually very happy that they didn't leave any loose ends and any "maybe someone survived" possibilities.

The individual characters, while some had some charming moments, I just didn't care for entirely. Felicity Jones and the male lead, no feels at all when they died. K-2SO, Chirrut and Baze I did really enjoy though and seeing their last moments was hard.

Vader was DOOOOOOOOPE. Those 2 or 3 minutes at the end easily the best part in the entire movie. Like, no contest at all the best part of the movie.

yeah i'm sure that's what it would be, but I guess I always thought his "death" would have been on coruscant when he killed Mace... and went on to kill a bunch of children and elderly jedi.

which I guess tells us that in Anakin's mind, padme's death weighs more heavily than all the people he killed.

Vader is in constant misery, pain, anger, etc from both his suit, and his mind. It's said that those feelings (all darkside traits) helps boost his power.

Wasn't the ending kind of correct in the sense that Leia was on a diplomatic mission because their original plans fwhen retrieving the plans for the death star were to show the senate that the empire is plotting to make this big weapon?

Before Rogue One came out, sure we could assume that, but the events of Rogue One show us pretty clearly that Bail Organa specifically had Leia on that ship to secure the Death Star plans and then haul ass to Tattooine to recruit Obi-Wan Kenobi.

for such a short scene, i feel this captures the movements, feel of how Vader was in EP4-6. No flips, twirls etc and it just screams awesome. If Disney can manage this with Luke in EP8, I will never have complaints about their SW work.

Choked, crushed larynx, slammed against the wall and sliced in half. They stopped short of having his entrails spill on the floor when he was on the ceiling. Savage as FUCK!

P.S. Played it in slow mo, one guy straight up gets decapitated.

yeah vader was pretty badass tbh. no flips or anything (he can't), no fancy moves, just murderous flicks of the wrist and force powers.


also, the bit about pain is what vader likes to tell himself. it's unclear as to whether it's actually true. meditating in that hyperbaric chamber he was in in ESB is the only time he's ever pain-free and he finds it difficult to maintain that mental state. I can't remember what that state is except that he thinks of it as immersing himself in the dark side.
