I'd say the issue in Isladar's case wasn't the logic, but the line.

Rules lawyering has been a tried and true tactic of trolls throughout the history of the net. Its success has been demonstrated here via mods literally saying, "Well, it is shitty, but he didn't do xyz..." despite pretty much everyone else understanding the bad faith implications and some even finally acting out against the ignorance. He won. We're all cucks. yada yada

The fact a lot of this stuff often involves real world implications also shouldn't put in the same league as some FFXI bullshittery. So, let's kindly stop trying to correlate that into some kind of defense. Much as I think real endgame should be accessible, I'd tolerate oldschool XI a million times over if it actually meant we could get universal healthcare and check off a number of other leftist policies.

This illustrates my point. You perceive Kings being bad as so clearly and evidently true even when I've gone to great lengths to qualify my opinion insofar as an opinion can be qualified. Yet you just dismiss it.

Guartz clearly doesn't put as much effort forth into defending Trump as I do Kings, but the fact is if he has a genuine disagreement he's going to catch shit for it. And I don't think that dissent is a good reason to moderate someone.

I do think there should be a good faith effort to engage in the discussion that bars people from saying something, disappearing, and then coming back later. But I don't want to moderate anyone just for minority viewpoints no matter how stupid.

I'm not dismissing it, I'm saying you have clearly defined what it is you think is fun, and we only need to look at your avatar to know it's not enough for you to play a game with your friends and cast some spells, you need to camp something for days at a time and get the claim over someone else doing the same in order for it to be fun, and the majority of BG went on record to say fuck no that isnt fun.
