sounds like he's going down a path you can't follow
It was actually a decent film. Feels like people were thrashing it way worst than it deserves. Its a fun watch, I can definitely sit thru another viewing unlike BvS. You couldnt pay me to watch that again.
Probably 6 or 7 out of 10. Char development was very limited outside of harley and deadshot, who both stole the show in their own rights. Joker I already know his scenes got cut. It really shows by how choppy his storyline played out. That could of been the editing issues people had but for the most part, the film was edited fine.
The movie was bad.
It's incredible how they keep screwing these movies up. It doesn't seem like anyone is putting any effort into actually writing a plot. None of them seem to have real stories. BVS was a confusing mix of Lex Luthor doing stuff for some reason. This movie is some villain doing stuff for some reason. It would be fine if they could concentrate on the main characters interacting with each other but for whatever reason they can't manage to do that. Everything seems badly glued together like they have are just focused on coming up with scenes that they think might be interesting. It leads to movies that are just hollow and jarring.
This movie didn't have a single action scene which struck me as interesting. The humour also kept falling flat. There isn't anything to enjoy in this film outside of seeing them try to do a live action portrayal of these characters.
I feel so bad for DC. I wish they could make entertaining movies like Marvel.
I thought it was okay as long as you turned your brain off. I went in with low expectations and so I came out of it going.. "Well I laughed some, and some of the scenes were neat."
So good enough for me. I don't think it's worth 26% on RT, though. That's crushing it a bit too much, but I do think it's like a 4.5 or 5/10
I feel like you don't understand the difference between Rotten Tomatoes and metacritic. RT doesn't collect scores, they're a pass/fail percentage. 26% means 26% of reviewers recommend seeing this movie or gave it a score of 5/10 or higher. For example, if every critic gave a movie a 6, it would have a 100% on RT.
It's a 4.7/10TOMATOMETER
26%
Average Rating: 4.7/10
Reviews Counted: 237
Fresh: 61
Rotten: 176
Between this and Ghostbusters I'm amazed at how many don't understand how Rotten Tomatoes works.
Yeah, I thought it was just an average amongst the scores of the reviews submitted, but I guess that's more a Metacritic thing over RT. Thanks for the correction regardless.
@Dantrag: good to see my 4.5-5/10 would've matched what most people have said about the average rating, then I suppose.
@Kran: Yeah, I guess I knew the scores were aggregate, but I didn't really fully understand the % was just those who said it was fresh.
Wasn't as horrible as a lot of people seem to make it out to. Yeah there was basically no plot but really wasn't meant to be more like here let's introduce a lot of characters and set up for other films. Some chuckles some decent action some pretty meh or bad stuff but overall good for DC... granted that is a low bar but still. Also still don't like the Flash in this but at least he didn't look as fucking retarded as he did in BvS.
Just saw it. I liked it. It wasn't no Guardians of the Galaxy but it also wasn't BvS.
Good to see that DC still hasn't learned about having too many characters in a film with no backstory to any of them and trying to fit all of that into a single movie.
Deadshot and Harley could have gotten their own movies. Super easy scripts for both of them and have them both end with them going to jail.
Absolutely loved Harley. She nailed it. Rick w/e sucked ass. Didn't care for his love story with Eyebrows. Boomerang wasn't needed, Croc wasn't needed, Diablo was cool. Felt really bad for Slipknot. As a fellow Winnipeger I had hoped he had a bigger role.
Also, why the fuck is Flash's lightning blue?! That is bugging me so much
Saw it drunk. Wasn't as bad as it was made to sound. But this is why we drink.
Also, whoever posted the Batman spoilers was 100% wrong and/or reaching so hard. None of those things were even remotely close to true.
Suicide Squad had alot of wasted potential. Alot of jokes fell really flat and outside two scenes there isn't really much memorable going for it. It's not terrible but mediocrity in this saturated genre is basically failure. Too many characters just stand around with fuck all to do.
Couple scenes jump out:
Spoiler: show
It's a solid 6.5/10 movie.
The movie was decent but could have been so much more. I could think of a lot worse things to waste two hours on.
per ronin, if you're talking about Harley.Spoiler: show
