I am more curious about how it helps prevent shit like HIV than whether it really does or not. I do not understand the logistics of no foreskin = less diseases. It seems like the only difference it would even make would just be a case of learning to clean your damn dick which isn't exactly a difficult thing to do.

I just find it hard to believe the difference is big enough to even be relevant unless you're a nasty fuck who doesn't actually clean yourself, but that article claims it is a "significant" difference. Maybe there's actual numbers out there that make a more compelling argument but I don't quite give enough of a shit to look for them, nor do I really intend to stick my dick in anyone with HIV, much less without protection. If parents believe it to be beneficial for their kids then cool I guess, but it isn't exactly convincing me to go get the snip.

everything i've read is based on studies in countries that are already having an AIDs epidemic. it also didn't state why, so i can only assume it's a combination: poor hygiene/access to hygiene, poor education, poor sanitation, low condom use. It seems likely that men raised among missionaries would have better access to at least some of those things, and the remaining difference could very well be poor hygiene.

I'll honestly have to look into it, cause I haven't read the studies. What i've hard was that the recommendations are based on the studies done in Africa. I also imagine that a penis without a foreskin is less prone to injury and thus less prone opportunistic infections.
