Here's hoping NASA's budget don't get gutted for that Asteroid wrangling mission. These pioneers could get a chance at an asteroid stationed/orbiting the moon.
After another successful launch for SpaceX carrying the EchoStar 23 satellite, more news about SpaceX reusing boosters has come to light.
First Reused Booster Flight
So expect the next major milestone to approach later this month (slated for March 27th)!SpaceX president and COO Gwynne Shotwell announced that the first flight of a used Falcon 9 booster is scheduled for sometime in the next few weeks. The rocket will fly a satellite manufactured by Luxembourg-based communications company SES.
Outstanding. Here's hoping they clear their next hurdle...reuse and return would be pretty cool.
That's a bit of an understatement. Reusable boosters is pretty much the basis for SpaceX's business model.
It's some bullshit, I can understand ARM since DARPA was also researching into it however the DISCOVR stuff sucks, know a few people on that mission. So far haven't heard if my mission is getting cancelled or budget pulled yet, wasn't on the proposed budget but who knows.
nah it's cool we can't afford that shit people we need to secure our position as the world's military leader for no reason.
https://medium.com/making-vr-human/o...687#.qtmu5zmdzBuzz Aldrin is an American astronaut best known for piloting the Lunar Module on the Apollo 11 mission in 1969, and the second person to set foot on the moon. While it was a historic achievement, Dr. Aldrin wants to be remembered for more than just "kicking up moon dust." He wants his legacy to include laying the groundwork for a permanent human settlement on Mars, and he has a plan. This world’s first holographic ‘archival VR’ project, created by 8i, will give viewers a unique opportunity to ‘meet’ the astronaut through his hologram today, and will give future generations a chance to experience his legacy, long after mankind has made the journey to Mars.
SpaceX's launch window for their first recycled launch opens tonight at 18:27 EDT (22:27 GMT; 23:27 BST). Just a reminder in case anyone out there is like me and regularly says "Aw shit, I wanted to see that one live!"
I hope I can actually get home by 6:27 pm today... I'll probably be stuck in traffic.![]()
We did it fam
