After a couple scrubs SN8 is back on the pad. SpaceX says they're shooting for 1pm PST, or about 30min from now.

Yoooo this started off so bad ass but it came in too hot and blew up. Everything looked great on cameras maneuver wise, it's speed was just too high to not be destroyed when it hit the ground.

Pretty bad ass nonetheless, crazy to see the little air flip it does to land.

Haven't been this hyped since the Falcon Heavy Test launch back in '18. This was pretty damn sick, and delivered.

That was impressive as hell. Seriously, they're just leaps and bounds ahead of where I'd have thought they could be at this point. Watching it serenely coast back to earth then switching to "It's fucking GO TIME" mode for landing was awesome.

SN9 is essentially ready to fly, and the first Super Heavy is also in the process of being assembled. Cool stuff should keep happening next year, and at a more frequent pace.

Looked it up and watched it because of your belly flop comment. That was really impressive. The ending just felt like a thud.

Insufficient fuel pressure from the secondary header fuel tanks, up at the nose of the vehicle. Not enough thrust as a result, so boom. I expect they'll fix it for SN9 and we will see a landing.

Today, it was announced SpaceX is targeting no earlier than the fourth quarter of this year for Falcon 9’s launch of Inspiration4 – the world’s first all-commercial astronaut mission to orbit – from historic Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Jared Isaacman, founder and CEO of Shift4 Payments, is donating the three seats alongside him aboard Dragon to individuals from the general public who will be announced in the weeks ahead.

The Inspiration4 crew will receive commercial astronaut training by SpaceX on the Falcon 9 launch vehicle and Dragon spacecraft, orbital mechanics, operating in microgravity, zero gravity, and other forms of stress testing. They will go through emergency preparedness training, spacesuit and spacecraft ingress and egress exercises, as well as partial and full mission simulations.

This multi-day journey, orbiting Earth every 90 minutes along a customized flight path, will be carefully monitored at every step by SpaceX mission control. Upon conclusion of the mission, Dragon will reenter Earth’s atmosphere for a soft water landing off the coast of Florida.
