Seeing some speculation it’s possibly flipped on its side.

    My fave "oopsie story"

    https://www.simscale.com/blog/nasa-m...rbiter-metric/

The navigation team at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) used the metric system of millimeters and meters in its calculations, while Lockheed Martin Astronautics in Denver, Colorado, which designed and built the spacecraft, provided crucial acceleration data in the English system of inches, feet, and pounds. JPL engineers did not take into consideration that the units had been converted, i.e., the acceleration readings measured in English units of pound-seconds^2 for a metric measure of force called newton-seconds^2.

What the fuck Lockheed, why aren't you using the metric system in your science?

Americans will measure with anything except the metric system, etc.

There is a west wing episode where Josh rants about the administration having no space priorities other than NASA getting off the news cause all they do is screw up and he talks about them screwing up measurements....good to know we've been doing that for 30+ years now.

Oh man a quick google shows this has happened....a lot

SpaceX had their 3rd Starship test launch this morning. Pretty cool, overall I'd say successful.

Great stuff. Clean separation of Starship this time. Super Heavy (stage one) didn't quite make it back on the return, not enough engines re-lit on the landing burn. Starship makes it to orbit though! Footage below as they attempt reentry...

Putting money on successful first stage return next try, and landing a Starship two tries later.
