yeah, i've been logged in pretty consistently for a couple hours, but matchmaking hasn't been working at all.

Resetting the match search usually fixes it for me
heh, i did that immediately after and finally got a match. which then failed to report after ending, followed by a disconnect.
Digital Foundry discovered that if you're using a 750ti (I have this, it's the graphic equivalent of PS4 /XBone) and you try to run the game at the same settings as PS4, there will be frame drops when trying to run 60 fps. To run 60 fps, you have to lower the settings to medium or less.
Can anyone actually make or join lounges? I just get an error message either way.
Add me to the list too please: BohabMF
Probably the only legit time to just rage quit. Fuck these stupid bugs.
Is there any online play happening at all? I just sat queueing for ranked for a good ten to fifteen minutes with no results.
Not from the streams I've watched (DSP, Arturo, and Eduardo).
i've been doing random single player stuff for the last hour or so with fight request on, no matches have come up.
Capcom tweeted that they know matchmaking is confirmed busted atm
I got maybe like 2 in an hour while practicing some combos.
This launch is way worse than I expected. I think the delayed content would be pretty excusable if the limited amount of things that did launch at least worked properly lol
So serious question, has Capcom just killed the FGC?
This game was supposed to appeal to casuals and draw in new gamers, but has zero fucking content on launch to get them to play/buy. It was rushed to give players a headstart on competitive play, but has almost completely broken online.
While paid reviews are decent, actual user reviews are annihilating the game and alot of people might never correct said reviews if/when the game gets fixed, leaving the game at a permanent deficit in review scores. While some may not put much weight into review scores, it can't be denied that they have an affect on sales both now and in the future.
I don't think so; I think Sony is willing to keep the marketing bux flowing until the game is at least fully released.
I doubt this would cause any regression in the FGC, but it might certainly be the difference between SFV being SFIV big or it being MKX big.
The difference here is that unlike when SFxTK had similar issues, there isn't a bigger SF title for people to just drop SFV for.
Capcom Cup is still going to be a very big deal, but they're certainly going to miss a good chunk of sales from this; or at least full price ones. I think we'll see a very early price drop on digital versions.
You are so, so very wrong on this.
9/10 casual gamers have to be hooked to a game in the first 48 hours or less. It doesn't matter how much marketing or articles come out 2-6 months down to road regarding DLC, updates, or add-ons. People overlook it and never go back 9/10 times. It is the same with picking up men or women. You either impress them off the bat, or your chances plummet to =<10%.
This game has attempted to target the Madden/Call of Duty crowd; those mindsets, in particular, will never give the game a chance if it fails on initial delivery. "Shit fukin suxx bro!"
Again, you are going to hear FGC after FGC face talking this game up because their income or possible income depends on it. I can promise you that Alex Valle, Gootecks, Mike Ross, etc would be blasting this game left and right if they didn't NEED it to succeed.
The end result: the same 3s/SF4 heads will play SF5, but the chances of this catching on to the much wider audience has now drastically decreased. You can put it on ESPN or the front of Twitch all you want, and yes, some of those people will tune in for those, but they sure as hell won't be playing it 6 months from now.
