it's just based on your overall progress. doing single player content levels your characters (and in turn player level) up, i'm like 150 something because i cleared all of the story mode and a bunch of survival routes.

basically it doesn't mean anything

There's some achievements for player and character levels, but they don't mean shit in practice since xp can be acquired thru single player stuff.

Winning w/ Mika seems to be 90% waiting for things to happen, looking for a chance to get to play. Def can't rush anyone down w/ her, unless they have absolutely no idea what she does.

Pretty much. To an extent she actually feels a lot like USF4 Sakura to me where you just use whiff punishes to start your offense, just that the offense once it's started is based on mixups instead of combos, and her whiff punishing options aren't as good.

I'm starting to think S.HP buffered into Peach will be important as a party-starter.

So there is zero penalty for rage quitting atm. Just came across a 2200 LP 38 win streak Karin who sucked massive ass, and of course they quit halfway thru the second round.

So if you come across Ygolonac, don't waste your time.

Also had that happen the night before when I caught a Mika slipping twice. Shit's dumb.

I'm pretty sure it compiles all the characters levels and just "Here's a giant number to make you feel good" I don't have any idea on the conditions you level up. Sometimes doing story I gained 3 levels, and other times I gained 6. Like everything else in the game, it's not explained.

Yeah, I mentioned that a few pages back. Max level must be 1000 or something, I'm already in the 250's range.

Edit : man just looked over Welt's record in ranked, I want to fight your army of scrubs. I've been in an endless cycle of 800-1000 LP players back to back followed by 3500+ LP monster since launch. Causing an endless loop of my ranking never really changing.

Honestly, the only matches I've ever* lost in ranked is due to teleporting connections. Also, the replays don't represent lag (like SF4) as I suggested the other night to you.

I wasn't looking at the matches, just the LP of people you're playing. It's like 90% people sub 500.

The actual list in CFN updated a couple hours ago for me (but is now frozen again). While actually in matches it's still sitting at the ranking I had days ago.

I would really love to see just how poorly Capcom coded so much of this stuff. While not excusable, the servers overloading makes sense. But not being able to maintain something as simple as a number based ranking system, or connection quality filter not working, or deciding that booting people to the menu when you lose connection is the way to go about things... The list really just keeps going.

Then again this is the company that still refuses to include frame data in the game, so who the fuck knows what goes on in their heads.

Edit : oh and favorite list never updating, training mode not saving your settings, and just general awful UI/QoL design.
