For the record, Karin startup on stHP is like 8 frames or something. That is only good against terrible players that I don't even need AA to beat. For a character with no projectiles, you would think they would give her something decent in terms of AA. Sadness.

stHP has an early AA hitbox that's active sooner than the grounded hitbox. Dunno the frame data but it's definitely faster than 8f. Gief and Sim's jabs work the same way.

I'm pretty much done with this game competitively...but like, not because I think it's a bad game or anything even. I'm just 10000% trash at it, I can't even execute command normals or basic special moves. Granted I've had a few glasses of wine but at this point I'm legit set to go back to RPGs and just focus on streaming and be done competing.

Y'all complaining about AA and I'm over here protecting the skies with Fangs godlike AAs after getting good with Sf4 Vega's lol. That video alone makes me want to play bison regardless of how impractical

idk I can't wrap my head around it, in SF4 I was known for my execution and in this game I can't even execute forward + HP reliably lol

It is just really slow and you have to just be a lot more patient than you were being.

It took awhile to adjust to combo speed from 4 to 5, like welt said a lot of the stuff is slower and it throws you off

Also I think my problem with the sets me and welt play is I focus too much on thinking about jumpins and get dashed grab, I need to react much faster rip, solid karin though

It's not the combos that are the issue; I can hit the links fine and do the combos easily. I can't do shit like just AA with qcf+k without getting an accidental jump, or punish with f+HP without getting just regular S.HP etc

Edit: so vs. Gief, if he goes red and spins and you block...does he get free Super? Just hold up? I can't seem to avoid it.

The tap version of the vtrigger? The one that just pulls you in but doesn't hit? I think it might be a combo if you don't block but you should definitely be able to jump out otherwise.

I'm pretty sure you can just jump out, but I honestly haven't read up on Gief at all, just been fucking around with in lobbies for fun atm.
