Well, Birdie has basically been announced and will be revealed @ E3.
Well, Birdie has basically been announced and will be revealed @ E3.
Maybe in a few engine I'll like the character but I just never enjoyed playing with or against Birdie in Alpha.
Booooooweeeee
I can hear it already!
I just envisioned a SF5 that had Birdie, Alex, and either Hugo or Hawk. The anger that would radiate off Welt would be glorious.
I... I want dis.
I enjoyed seeing a large man with a mohawk throwing motherfuckers around by their goddamn necks via a thick chain.
If the rumors are true, I welcome his return.
Just like I wanted Rolento back because of a combination of his amazing stage music (well, bay area, but whatever!) and his guillotine super, so to do I want Birdie back for the above reasons.\
Just dreaming, but I also want a form of brutalities. Obviously not punching people's heads off, but I love the idea that finishing an opponent with an EX version of a move under certain conditions causes a more spectacular and interesting conclusion to the fight. Street Fighter technically had this by means of the Super Flashes on finishing with a super move and, of course, the opponent lying there silently with Shungokusatsu, but after playing MKX and seeing just how well combos and setups can seemlessly flow in to such a brutal and decisive end to a fight... I want to see many more fighting games, moving forward, adopt a similar thing.
Its kind of like the "can't unsee" logic: once we saw how good EX moves are and feel, we want some form of them in most of our fighting games. Same thing with forward/back dashes and the like. I feel the same way about brutalities. Give me a Hadouken that bores a hole through the opponent's front clothing if its EX, or a tatsu that knocks them off the screen or something.
well we know the ramen bowl on head appeared in the very first sfv reveal, so i wouldn't put something like that out of reach entirely, but it doesn't really fit the franchise style like it does MK.
if we're getting alpha characters, give me r. mika.
Re: stage finishes. I don't know if any have been added to the England stage, but the China stage has the ramen bowl on head and the bus finisher. And the bus now drives off afterwards.
Also, all hail the chain grab.
Cammy and Birdie leaked.
They only need to get rid of the shortcuts and we're set. Oh man, I was by the convention centre a few hours ago, and there was this hugeass SFV banner. Fuck, wish I had access to E3 like back in the days when I was friends w/ this reporter.
They're obviously distancing the game from 4 in terms of mechanics so that would hopefully mean shortcuts go bye bye
the more I think about it, the more it seems like this game shits on SF4... and its not even alpha yet.
Well, it was created 7 years after, so I would hope so. Then again Marvel 2 was 100000x better than 3, so there is that.
They've been pretty keen to highlight alot of people's complaints with 4 in what they've revealed so far.
Faster
Less turtling
Less vortex (since fewer hard knockdowns)
No Wakeup Ultras
No crouch tech either. And hopefully, most if not all option selects will go away. I want decisions to be important, and option selects eliminate many mind games. That goes too for the safe wakeup shoryu - FADC. It was at a hefty meter cost, sure, but it is also a too safe option, screwing the risk/reward balance.
Any idea if shortcuts are still in? Reversal time window?
Yes x1000 to removing option selects. Option selects go against the very nature of fighting games. Whats the point in decision making if you can make 2-3 in one go?
Option Selects don't bother me that much, since if you're on the wrong side of one it means you already fucked up.
No more Option Selects instantly makes the game better in all aspects.
