Went back to Ultra, tried out several sticks, and actually have the same execution issues. I guess my hands are fucked up or I unlearned how to play fighting games the past two weeks somehow lol, gonna go back to rpgs for awhile
You're getting too old Calli #packitup
Aside, Haunts said he'll have an update on the ragequitting thing soon. The reckoning day might be kind of entertaining

The ragequitter thing is absolutely retarded. I can't actually believe Capcom would be stupid enough to do anything via witch hunt that is their own fault in the first place. They are basically outsourcing free labor to help fix a product they butchered from top to bottom to begin with. They should be ashamed of the state they have put themselves in.
Welt, is Karin's instant Tenko remotely reliable online or should I be looking for a new character?
I'd assume Welt would tell you to look for a different character either way.
Well yeah, but that's because Welt knows better than to play garbage characters whereas I do not.
It's actually easy to do, even online, but....
The most important move she has is instant orochi (shoulder). It's the only move she has that is safe so you should training mode that for hours from every normal until you have the instant version down. To practice, if it doesn't combo in training mode, you aren't doing the instant version. There is no visual or audio que like Tenko.
This will help you understand why it's so good beyond it being her only safe pressure move you have, at all;

Anyone online want to fight me?

how the shit does that move even work? It's gone clean through my charged HK before lol
For JFL (instant tenko) you can just plink k + p or even hit k + p at the same time and it will come out. Also for the instant orochi, you can't actually do it instantly because if you do it in the first 3 frames of the dash (or the just frame tenko window) you will get the tenko instead regardless of whether you were hitting down or not. So you have to do it on the fourth frame to get it out the fastest.
Also to answer Cali, Karens command dash has upper body invincibility and can low profile a ton of shit. Dhalsim s.mp is the big one but it's useful in almost every matchup if you know what to look for.
And just to note I think Welt is nuts, Karin is really strong, but doesn't seem his style. She's a pure footsie character, and her buttons are insane, but she doesn't have much offense without V-trigger.
Watching Mago I am beginning to understand her game and like her more. She still isn't shit compared to several of the characters and her AA is probably the worst of any fighter I've used in 20 years of playing these.
Also, tons of videos and forum guides refer to it as instant orochi; just know you have to do it as fast as possible or the version you use (normal) will get obliterated by almost any attack. This is what makes it difficult to use online properly. You should be doing qcf>lk>down+p as one continuous motion off a normal such as crMK
Edit: what you actually want to do is qcf > down > plink kick to punch. Use light off normals in case you miss to recover faster. If you fail, try to throw or use standing lk
I'd say treat her like SF4 Chun and rely on jumpback normals to intercept instead of grounded AAs but jump moves are kinda butt in this game
Bison's best AA is his neutral jump lk. Though that speaks more about the general state of his AA options unless they jump directly into the path of his cr HP
Welt how do you think I'd like Karin? I'm just started putting thought into playing her and I like her normals and potential.
I don't know why you wouldn't stick with Vega considering you played him in 4 and he is better now.
Anyone who played Vega in 4 hates fun, so I'd assume he's on a quest to find the least enjoyable character on the roster.
It's not like the character knowledge really carries over, SF5 vega plays nothing like SF4.
If anyone is hankering for a taste of L'phabet soup I'll be on in a few minutes
