1 thing I think that will shape the meta game in the future that almost no one does right now is v-reversal. There's going to be a whole meta around punishing and using v reversals, and in NJ there's one guy that uses them a lottt and they're really good.

The complete lack of AAs in the "high" level gameplay I've watched lately is disturbing.. Use your AAs people (I suck at them too atm but I'm nowhere near tourney ready)

Idk maybe no one uses that shit in NJ but I'm seeing plenty of it. I personally use that shit all the time since I have no other option to break pressure if I'm playing Bison. Someone like Necalli? Nah I'm never using that shit.

I'm talking characters all over, even at WBX I felt like there was wayyyy to much jumping. And in High level play at least online I almost never see VR. Maybe I'm watching old videos and they haven't picked it up yet but just from what I'm watching. I feel like its going to be the best use of V meter, especially for the non-hit VR (fang vega nash etc)

I use that shit all the time. Came natural as someone who used to main Baiken in GG. I do agree though I rarely see it online, and when I do it is almost always a reaction after they've seen me use it.

I use it pretty liberally, but that has more to do with Bison's somewhat poor AA options and lack of an invincible move.

Playing a pair of ft5s with Welt yesterday on Necalli I think I used a V Reversal once, because characters with a DP don't have as much of a use for it. It's riskier yes, but you're not subject to getting thrown out of it and you're dealing "real" damage as opposed to white damage. I'd say the exception would be Cammy since she can side switch with hers and get the corner.

You're less likely to use V Reversal on a character like Necalli given the nature of his V Trigger. He also has a 3f jab and probably be best DP in the game.

To be honest that Chun Li did that like 30 times before. There is really nothing impressive about that at all.

I'm still having a hell of a time figuring out real pressure as Mika, it still seems like there's zero detriment to just mashing QR/back tech and pressing anything you want when you wake up if your character has a reversal. She has to do so much work to get in that she has to respect DPs that will send her right back out, so it's wide open to just mash jab or throw or whatever you want.

I dunno what advice to offer, you did a good job sniffing out DPs in the second set with Necalli though.

GGs, I spent a bit of time learning about Mika and took your advice about not jumping out of mixups to hearts

Yeah keep in mind that command grab mixups are pretty much her only mixups; she has almost zero frame traps that lead to anything outside of S.LP > S.MP so if you block the first hit you can usually safely upback from there, or just let her press MP and then her turn is over.

I see Luffy got blown up in another SFV tournament. I don't think he knows how to play without Rose's backdash.

I think a lot of Mika is just having a good grasp on the opponent's defense and taking advantage of it. It's a lot of reads and just taking a risk and going for stuff. I don't think there's a whole lot you can do to pressure safely. There's some safe jump stuff, but you can only really do it if they don't QR. She's probably always going to have to guess on DPs.

I've been making this comparison a lot since I started on SFV, but if you've played persona, her playstyle feels almost identical to Kanji.

I can be proud of this right?! all with laura my AA game is on point and in not missing any more gdamn punishes and crush counters.

I'd be happy about, with such a heavy online presence in this early stage online ranking seems like a fairly good measure of skill.

I seem to be stuck around 3700. whenever I make it there I lose to some 1800lp Nash. Need practice.

I'm going to be grinding matches as Necalli over the next couple of days. Made it to winners finals of my pool at the CEO tournament and got shit on by a Mika and a Bison.
