    Stun only builds on hit.

    Trigger is interesting since you'll fill it 2-3 times per round and have to choose between offensive use, guard cancel, or getting to risk a bad DP.

    Also they can't take out option selects lol, they've been in every game since and including SF2 and they're just a side consequence of how games read inputs.

    Yeah, os are a... byproduct of programming. The machine is just interpreting the algorithm, the user just abuses it. Same w/ plinking, although this one is more associated w/ the values stored in the 'buttons.' It just gives priority to certain values. Eg this y > than z.

    Option selects are fine in a limited capacity and are always going to exist in every fighting game. For example, GG Xrd tutorial teaches you basic option selects as part of the fundamentals of the game.

    SF4 is just filled to the brim with overly effective ones, crouch teching being the most glaring.

    Exactly. It's not that option selects are going to disappear forever, but they should go out of their way to specifically negate those that make certain situations brainless just by the option select being there. Honestly, even if the only option select that diasppears is crouch tech I'll be absolutely happy, as that's the one that have the most impact in the game at the level I am. Most other option selects are used at a level of skill way above my own. They'd still be great if removed, if only for the sake of the spectacle, as pro matches are much more interesting to view when interesting and tough decisions are made, but the removal of crouch tech is huge.

    You should not be able to use cr.lk on opponent's wakeup and also input sweep if they backdash to cover both bases. If they can somehow get rid of that and crouch tech, the game will be the best fighter (it will be anyway, get used to it).

    If backdash actually has no invincibility (was this confirmed? idk, but it makes sense with no focus attack) then all the anti-backdash option selects are gone by default.

    Yeah why are we trying to make back dashing safer? Back dash as a safe option is exactly why that option select SHOULD exist.

    Being able to run out of a mix up after you got knocked down is scrubby.
    Being forced to block is a part of fighting games.

    Don't want to be forced to block on wakeup? Then don't fuck up.

    While I agree, the lack of invincibility on backdash negates that. I prefer it better this way personally.

    Lol, I think you miss the point. I don't want anyone to be able to wakeup and backdash to safety. Quite the opposite, actually.
