yeah i haven't been playing at all, ranked matches even when screening for 5-bar connects were actually playable maybe 50% of the time. i'll definitely pick it up once they finish it because i do enjoy the core gameplay quite a bit, but jesus christ did they butcher absolutely everything else about the release.

Still doing training/survival because I still feel I'm not ready for ranked matches despite being told I should just do a few. Forever 0 LP.
Play casual matches if you want to get an idea of how you'd match up. Playing the AI is gonna lead to some awful habits.
I'm 2/3 a bottle of wine in and I fucking hate this goddamn game lol I do nothing but lose to trash fucking players I'm just going to go bankrupt playing BBCF at Round 1 instead
This game definitely leads to mad sodium levels, I'd say even more then in IV. When I would get blown up in a vortex at least I had some kind of mental gymnastics I could use to defend myself.
With this game in general being so honest when I drop a match I know it's cause I just got blown the fuck up and I gotta hold that L
Fuck that the shit that's blowing me up isn't grandpa honest game bullshit. I can't do a fucking thing about people just mashing fucking jab/grab in every single fucking gap and then once they hit it the round's over because they felt only 30% of the cast needed some sort of reversal option that didn't cost 3 bars.
I've definitely learned one of the secrets to success against Mika is making them continually blow their meter on EX shooting peach so I can poke and prod at will.
EX shooting peach is garbage anyways lol, it's only good as a punish. It's not armored until frame 3 so it loses to mashing just as much as everything else she has.
He is, he's doing well; I should caveat that a lot of my complaints are because of the online, rollbacks don't help when it comes to things like resets or meaty setups. I have tight setups that I know you can't mash out of that still lose 100% of the time online because I apparently have to press the button 5f early, lol
In SFIV, there was like 4 different levels of online "lag". It was either:
Almost unnoticeable
Playable
Not playable
Abysmal
You only played the top 2 and you changed your link timing depending on that.
In SFV, it feels like it changes literally person to person, making it fucking beyond aggravating to play. About every third person, I get someone that I hit, it rolls back, gives them a block, and suddenly they are hitting me. Yeah, I'll pass on that.
say no more
and evidently like 1 person out of my local "group of 5 people" bought sf5?
i will not have an offline experience until we go to shreveport again or finally decide to go to Texas Showdown.(im a pussy i've never traveled to dallas/houston by myself so this is gonna take some motivation)
This game is way more honest than IV and imo the character variety isn't there yet. They did an amazing job giving old characters a fresh coat of paint but then some of the characters depth seem lacking. I'm hoping they add in new Supers for the entire roster and take more risks with the future cast of characters. Other than that, I'm sold on the gameplay.
Everything outside of the gameplay is crap but I can deal with it because I have a solid group to train with.

lol Native going wild with these throws
I had the same problem at first, but then you start to look up for counterhit setups and throw baiting :X. As said I am not a very good player, but SF V is showing myself alot of my flaws compared to SFIV, and thats a good thing because i can work on flaws i see myself. I couldnt see my flaws clearly in SFIV at some point for some reason.
